DG , whats a better polish/sealant 111 or 105

OK I put on a layer of 101 Polish& cleaner , followed by a layer of 105.

Should I do a 111 which is just a straight polish and then AW ?

I suppose I could do it later.

DG recommended 101 followed by 111 , they didn't mention going to a 105 , why do you suppose that is , I thought 105 was their cats *** polish ??

101 and 105 is fine..you can top it if you want with 111 but the 105 is a better sealant...has better looks also...

111 is not a straight sealant also..it has a cleaner ...as said on the box.....just non abrasive...

the cleaner is very light but present...

its up to you if you want to top it..but the 105 is the better of the 2

AL

So 111 , 105 & 101 all are cleaner waxes/sealants. Kinda of strange.

Which one would be good to layer since they all have cleaners would that not take away or diminish under layers ?

Should my final LSP be AW and AW for maint. ?

I had my metallic gray 4runner stripped a few months ago of all my products that have built up , and AW was the only thing I used on it for a few months , always looked stunning , deep , wet , slick.

105 has a cleaner..very very mild but there..it is just to ensure surface is clean to bond to...111 same thing....101 is the AIO of the bunch..strongest cleaner of them all.....

I have layered 105x2 many times on cars...and when you do you actually see a difference in looks after the second layer...

both 111 and 105 will layer....both look good also....I used 111 before 105 came out and was very pleased with the looks...105 looks just better...and its slicker..

DG said once the sealant is cured the cleaners do not effect the finish...it is basicly for the after wash and then seal routine...a wash does not get it all..like the smog and road grime micro layer that sorta embed in the finsh...

As said the 101 is the strongest cleaner and will not layer..along with the fiberglass cleaner sealant..I think its 151..they have micro abrasives..sorta like poli seal...

ok Patrick...heres the sheets....whats your proof...

Patrick , what is so funny ??

Thanks for the info AL-53

Me and Al had quite a lengthy thread a while back about the differences of 101, 105, and 111.....Quite opposite opinions as a matter of fact.........

Al,

Thanks for the tips , I've really been having fun playing with the DG stuff.

Pretty impressive and I have a lot of high dollar stuff in my garage to compare to .

Patrick...I just pass on whats told to me from Jerry or Bill....and that other post..others that called got the same info I got...you say this...I say that...I think its best to let them try it and rate it.. let them say what they think of it...its just a car care product...no biggie....they can call and get answers also...

Al,

Does it need time to cure in between coats? Also, if you top 105 with collinite, should it cure before adding the wax? Thanks

Is there a need for a topper besides AW ?

What purpose would that serve , just to get a different look ? I guess you could really only top it with carnuba wax.

AL , did you ever use the paste carnuba from DG ? Thoughts on that ?

Patrick, right wrong what ever , what were your thoughts ( without starting another debate ). Just interested in hearing opinions on the 3 talked about.

Well said, and I totally agree. What puzzles me though is why did we hear opposite from Dg themselves?

Patrick, right wrong what ever , what were your thoughts ( without starting another debate ). Just interested in hearing opinions on the 3 talked about.

I use #111 occasionaly, and I use 105 more frequently. I was always lead to believe the 111 was there pure(er) sealant. But, on a recent detail, two weeks ago on a Nissan Titan, that was detailed with 105 last December, I did notice significant slickness remaining, and ample beading, like there was a fresh coat on it. I even asked the owners wife if he (her husband) had been detailing/maintaining it, and she said he hasnt done anything to it. Matter of fact "hes only washed it once since you detailed it around the Holidays LAST YEAR"! And for me to detail a car with protection still aboard speaks loudly.

SO I can say with extreme confidence, 105 does last. As for 101, I have only used it on a few occasions and didnt make any mental notes about slickness or durability. Its as easy as the other two (All DG products for that matter) when it comes to application and removal.

Did you apply it with a PC ? I'm hopefully going to hit it with another coat tomorrow. It should be able to be layered correct ? I also thought from the packaging that the 111 was the pure sealant.

Jerry at DG told me to top the 101 with the 111. I was like crap where does the 105 fit in , I just got a bottle...lol

I presume you own a shop by your sig. what your overall thought of the DG line? I'm coming off the FK line to try DG , been very happy so far with all the stuff I have from them.

Just curious , did you top that Nissan Titan with anything after the 105 ? ( like AW) to increase durability.

C'mon pic daddy! I dare ya.......

Yes, with the PC. Its just so much quicker and easier all around. Just my preference. I mean ya have the thing, use it everyway/time you can!

I personally use the 105 as a all in one type of product. Its just the way I have fit it into my scheme of things. Use it on cars in real good shape, for great protection.

I couldnt be more a happier with using them. They are always a part of my details in one way (Wheels, paint, RVT etc....) or another. Its really unfortunate they dont carry a line of polishes other then the pink buffing gel.......

Just curious , did you top that Nissan Titan with anything after the 105 ? ( like AW) to increase durability.

Nope, after witnessing the slickness firsthand nearly 6 MONTHS LATER, I was so impressed, I used what I did the last time. I didnt try to fix anything that was broke!
