I have been using a lot of the Duragloss products because I can get it locally instead of ordering Zaino and it seems very similar to Zaino. I have been using them together and can not tell the difference. I use DGAW over Z2 instead of Z6. I used DG 101 instead of Zaino AIO and topped with Z2. The DG 101 even smells the same as Zaino AIO. I am moving toward using the DG instead of Zaino. It seems to be just as good. I am just curious if anyone else has tried using these two together or noticed the similarity.
DG and Zaino seem very similar?

I find it interesting both Duragloss #101 and Zaino AIO (both intended for the same usage) have the same warning label...
Other than the smell, I can't tell a difference between Aquawax and Z8 either.

What is funny is that bringing up the similarities between Duragloss and Zaino seems taboo but somehow it is okay to talk about the similarities between Chemical Guys and Poorboys or Adams.

Youe are right, but I think that's because the CG and PB+Adams (among many others) is out there.
What if we find out years from now that Zaino was actually selling the products to DG?
I'm all for going to the source, at work and as a consumer, I hate being jerked.
Who do we have that there are no obvious behind the scenes ties?

Steve did some R+D with CG to get that particular Spray and Rinse formula, its not bad. I'd call it his.
Same holds true for millions of other products.
Like my Infiniti, its a $42k Altima in my opinion. Many people pay the extra $20k for a feeling.
That is what these boutique offerings are trying to sell to people.

IMO Z8 looks better, is slicker longer then AW. AW for me works very nice in my QEW mix.
Taboo as in nobody has a real proof between Zaino and DG. With the other products its a different story......

I have yet to see that warning for alphatic hydrcarbons on any other product line except for Zaino and Duragloss.
I alternated panels with Z8 and AW on a BMW 750 and neither I nor my customer could see or feel a difference between the two then or three weeks later.
All I have said is the product lines seem very similar. Does DG make Zaino products? I've heard rumors but that's it. I have no idea how reliable they are.
Just curious, where are Zaino products made? Does Sal have his own manufacturing facility or does he formulate his products and have someone else do the mixing and packaging?
I havent used either product so my opinion in all this really doesnt matter, but I must ask, does it look better because they have differing qualities or could the look possibly be in your head?
Sometimes I think, does this fuzion really look better than my nattys red or do I just see it that way because I want it to? This is no knock on any product, just using this as an example.

I've smelled Z6 and I think DG#921 at a detailing get together. They smell identical.

Personally, I've never used Zaino but so many middle aged muscle car guys I talk too swear by it. No offense to those that fit that profile. I DO love DG though and for it being to compared to Zaino alone just backs up the result I see everytime I use a DG product..be it 105, 951, 601, 901...everything I need is at Carquest and it's all $8 no matter what I need.

I DO love DG though and for it being to compared to Zaino alone just backs up the result I see everytime I use a DG product..be it 105, 951, 601, 901...everything I need is at Carquest and it's all $8 no matter what I need.

While they have similar properties, i wouldn't call them the same as Z2 / Z8, though i wouldn't dismiss some kind of relation either.
I have not used their AIO so i can't compare to Z-AIO.
As for Aliphatic Hydrocarbons, Zaino and DG aren't the only brands/mfrs that iv'e seen use this type compound.
I can't off the top of my head recall but i know Finish Kare uses this too in some of their products i.e. 1000p. I remember reading this on the can and you can see it on their website as well.

Is there a comparable DG product to Z-2 or Z-5? I haven't used either line of products before.

I've tested both ZAIO, followed by Z-2 pro vs DG 601 followed by DG 105. I thought that the Zaino side was a tad bit slicker. Both sides held up very well for 6 weeks. After this time I couldn't take it anymore. I had to wax the car. So I chose to go with another wax. The Clearkote line. It too lasted 6 weeks, and was going strong when I decided to put another cote on.
I like Zaino and have most of their products ZAIO, Z-2 Pro, Z-5, Z-8, Z-6, and the leather stuff. To me the Zaino & DG leather stuff smells the same, and the other comparable products work the same. JMO.
It was said on another web site a long, long time ago that Sal from Zaino and one of the Bailey brothers shared technology in the past. Supposedly Zaino car wash before 2000 used to be red and cherry scented according to what I was told.
Both companies are to close together not to be either one in the same minus a few steps here and there (product wise).
That or someone took one of the many formulas of the opposing company, hired a chemist and found out what exactly what was in the others formula, and then made their own, and then tweaked it a little to their specification.
It's not that hard to find out what's in someone's formula, if you have enough money, hire a chemist and want to know.
