I read where you mentioned a new Zaino product ZFX as a one step process. I didn't see it on their web site. Have you used it ? Is it a polish/wax ? Do you know what the durability is ?

Thanks

No more talk about a product that has been promised to us for months but no one has seen it except the people in the in with the Zaino people. :) Unfair advantage. :(

Hi Waxman. I have enjoyed your posts. I have noticed that you have several times put up posts saying, in effect, that Sal had broken promises regarding the ZFX. I always thought that he was reliable and would be interested in the details regarding your statements that he has broken promises. Do you have an unfilled order with Sal for the ZFX? Did he promise you something regarding ZFX that he did not deliver?

Thanks in advance for the info.

I read where you mentioned a new CMA product Blackfire as a three step process. I didn't see it on their web site. Have you used it ? Is it a polish/wax ? Do you know what the durability is ?

Thanks

:D [You see... CMA is breaking a promise too! :p It's supposed to be out early November and it's already the 6th!)

Gee... I've got my ZFX and BlackFire. Did you guys forget to send Sal and Terry holiday cards last year?

:p

the really important people....where should i send yours Dave......ps......now gimme some of your stash...as a moderator its your duty to share all your knowledge....and cool stuff with all of us on here....its the unofficial golden rule.....that i just made up...lets go....share the wealth.....im so jealous...:D

Sal sent me some ZFX to try out and I'm nowhere near a Zaino zombie. He seems to be a real cool guy. He's quite fun to talk to as well. Laters.

darbh,

No I have never even considered Zaino due to the waiting time needed for rubbing off, especially since the state I live in is surrounded by lakes and very humid. It's just that the "in" people were posting back in middle August that Zaino was coming out with the greatest product ever called Zaino FX . Supposedly in early September . I was excited to try it. Less cure time needed. Now three months later there is still no word on its availability.

Sal asked me to try his new ZFX/Show Car Polish combo and give him feedback. What I needed first was an education on ZFX. Here's what Sal sent me:

ZFXâ„¢ is a revolutionary new polish enhancement additive that's exclusive to the Zaino Show Car Polish system. There's never been anything quite like ZFXâ„¢, and here's why:

All polish, sealant and wax protection systems must "cure" before they can effectively protect your paint. Once cured, all paint protection systems begin to deteriorate. The rate of deterioration depends on many factors, including the chemicals used, bonding qualities, weather, washing, and use of the car.

A very few specialty paint protection systems can be layered to increase protection and paint appearance. Layer-able systems must cure prior to application of subsequent coats. Depending on the product, cure time may take a few hours or a few days.

For lasting protection, most synthetic sealants are formulated to be hard. If not properly designed, synthetic sealants may crack, yellow or distort the optics of the paint surface.

ZFXâ„¢ is a Zaino Show Car Polish acceleration and appearance additive. It offers near-instant cure time, reduced surface distortion, enhanced polish flexibility, and improved bonding to both paint and additional layers of Show Car Polish. In simple terms, ZFXâ„¢ vastly improves paint surface appearance and increases polish durability.

ZFXâ„¢ is the product of more than 30 years experience painting show cars. Professional painters add chemicals and compounds to their paint mix prior to painting to improve paint flexibility, reduce paint imperfections, increase hardness, and improve gloss. We applied this same line of thinking in the development of ZFXâ„¢. The result is a stunning professional show car finish with less effort, no waiting and longer-lasting results.

ZFXâ„¢ can be used with any of our Show Car Polish products, including Z-2, Z-3 and Z-5. Plus, ZFXâ„¢ makes using Z-1 PreLok unnecessary on cars that have been clayed and thoroughly cleaned with Dawn dishwashing liquid.

When we say "acceleration," we mean it! Adding ZFXâ„¢ to any one of our Show Car Polishes prior to use is like kicking an F-14 Tomcat into afterburner. The competition just can't compete... we'll shoot them down every time. Perfect shine, less time -- guaranteed!

Okay, cutting through the hype, ZFX is a product you add to your Z polish before applying. It removes the need for Z-1, makes ZSCP (that's Zaino Show Car Polish) easier to apply, and improves the shine. I'm trying to verify the latter. The first two items are true, as far as my testing can determine. Durability? I don't know yet. Ease-of-use? Yes, seems pretty easy to apply and remove.

I will have a full test completed in a couple weeks.

so you actually put some say...Z2and ZFX together in a seperate container...mix it up and then apply that solution....i wasnt sure if thats what your saying....and supposedly (as claimed anyway0 that combo speeds up the concoction to dry on contact and possibly...:D look better...

ps...that spam thing was funny...not in a mean way i am saying...:)

Yes according to previous posts you mix them together. It would makes sense to send a "free" mixing bottle with the FX.

Sal was kind enough to send me some ZFX two months ago or so. He sent a 2 oz. bottle that is to be used for mixing the product. The only bad thing, not really a bad thing though, is that once you mix the product, you have to use it. You only have 7 or 8 hours in which to use it. After that, its useless.

Honestly, I really couldn't tell the difference in shine between a regular coat of Z-2 and ZFX mixed with the Z-2. But then again, I was very new with the Zaino system two months ago. Laters.
