Detailed: 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Though its hard not to, I really try not to speed in the Mustang anymore.

I've been pulled over four times, and four times have been given a warning. Im counting my blessings. So now I try to stay only 5-10 above the speed limit, and by going the speed limit boosting my fuel economy by 40% :2thumbs:

150+ (indicated) in a V12 XK-E back in the 70s

130 in my Eldorado ETC (hit the limiter)

Usually much more sedate. Got nailed for the first time in 37 years a week or so ago. Was doing 81, written up for 62, which was a break.

being young and, well young.

A tad over 170 MPG on my small GSXR. Ran oout of straight roads...

Now being a parent I do not do this anymore..

wow awesome gas mileage!!! j/k what model gsxr do you have?

my busa topped out on the dyno at 196 mph at 10800rpm most ive seen on the street is 10k rpm so maybe high 180's cant go by the speedometer at those speeds it was pinned at 185

I was going to buy a busa next year but then I said why? I would LOVE to get one but I only put on like 2K a year. They are sweet :)

Or maybe just spend 4K and get a turbo for my little 1100. LOL

I've hit the "speed limiter" in every car I've owned. Her name is Julie, by the way.

"SLOW DOOOOOOOOOOOWN!"

OMG! That is too funny!

My speed limiter's name is Trish... :D

 Definitely in for that vid!

The fastest I have ever gone was 142 mph in my Chevelle when it had 3.08 gears. I am going by my tach, rearend gears and tire diameter to make that claim since my speedometer topped out at 120. Very stable at that speed, the front end felt just a touch light.

I also got a ticket for 104 in a 40 in Paradise Valley (AZ) in the early 80s. :nervous2:

I got my Accord to just over 120 after I swapped out ECUs. Mine was an LX and limited to 115, the EX ECUs weren't limited.

127 in my current car, a Mazda 626 V6.

I am still hunting for a working version of this video. For the story, go here: Driver Caught After High-Speed Chase Could Be Murder Suspect - News

Interesting....Yeah, the video they have posted doesn't work.

Have you seen the one where a Suburban is running from the cops (I think he shot his wife) and it flips and ejects him? Wow...

Nope. I would like to check it out, though.

Followed a C6 Corvette up an on-ramp last summer. The guy was driving extremely slowly, so I was probably following more closely than I should have. Well when the guy merges onto the highway, he hit the gas. Probably thought he was going to lose me. I ended up following him for several miles at 140. I didn't try to pass, just let him run interference for me. Too bad he got off the highway at the next exit. I was grinning like a fool the rest of the way home... :grinno:

One of these day's I'll have to find out what she'll really do! '98 GTi VR6, stock except for Techtonics chip, exhaust, & catalytic converter. Probably 140K on the odo at the time.
