I hit 157 in my SRT-4 on a 20 mile long straight stretch of road that never has anyone on it. I normally don't drive fast though, it wastes gas :down

that road that leads you out to midway RD by the tracks? :)

My fastest so far in my car is 280kmph, or about 175mph. Car had more to go, I didn't, broken lines becoming one are not cool. I'm a good boy now though :D

Dan.

Fastest speed for me was 138 mph in a 55 in a 91 Mustang while I was racing my buddy in his 94 Cobra. Darndest thing is he wouldn't let me catch him, so he must have been doing about 140+. Could have gone faster but ran out of freeway and the end of it was on a downhill(not good for the brakes).

I've never gone over 100 and this was out in country roads, no traffic at all with a stop every few miles. I was pulled over doing 65 in a 45 after having my license a few months. The cop was even nice enough to write down 55 on the ticket instead of 65. I haven't gone over the limit since that happened.(maybe it was the $1,000 fine that cured me :wall) I'm glad that happened though, cause I was a really stupid driver back then.

Wha..? They fined you $1,000 on a ticket that was for doing 10 over?

WARP 9.........................................................................

YEAH, THREE DIGITS EVERYDAY... PROBABLY ILLEGAL, SOME MAY CALL IT RECKLESS BUT PRETTY SAFE SO FAR, PERFECT NO-ACCIDENTS OF ANY KIND RECORD FOR WELL OVER 20-YEARS. OH, ALWAYS DRIVE A PORSCHE. :spot

Whoa, $1000 dollars? Or do you mean $100? Where do you live? When my mom speeded 18 mph over the 45 mph speed limit, the fine was $175..

Glad to hear that the fine was able to keep your speed under the limit. However, I still personally think that 55 for highways here in New York is just too low and just not practical.

lol 185k in a playgound zone (2 am in the morning so not really) and i was on the wrong side of the road...don't ask why

I live in CA, it was $1000 and I was uninsured at the time, I had my license for about 4 months (maybe this had something to do with the fine being so high?). After doing traffic school and showing proof of insurance, they knocked the fine down to $600.

No tickets here, but I only narrowly avoided a 125 in a 60 last year. Been drivin a lot more carefully since then, my GTP's chipped to 127 and it won't beat an interceptor in the long run. Been looking at GTO's lately, I live out in a pretty quiet area patrols-wise, so I want something fast enough to outrun a ticket.

Timmah, I recall seeing a video of a police pursuit where a 2002-2003 Maxima SE literally shot past two CV police interceptors like they were standing still. If I can dig it up, I'll post it.

Heh heh, can't outrun a radio, and a pop for willfully evading can change your life in a big way ;)

Besides the consequences in court, once you don't stop, the LEOs wonder if you're more than just a gearhead having fun in his car and they change their attitude towards you; it's not fun-and-games any more.

Gee don't *I* sound all goody-two-shoes :o Heh heh, a few people who've ridden with me would get a good chuckle out of my being all :nono about this stuff but I've dealt wtih LEOs both ticked off and not, and "not" is a whole lot better ;)

 Definitely in for that vid!

The fastest I have ever gone was 142 mph in my Chevelle when it had 3.08 gears. I am going by my tach, rearend gears and tire diameter to make that claim since my speedometer topped out at 120. Very stable at that speed, the front end felt just a touch light.

I also got a ticket for 104 in a 40 in Paradise Valley (AZ) in the early 80s. :nervous2:

I got my Accord to just over 120 after I swapped out ECUs. Mine was an LX and limited to 115, the EX ECUs weren't limited.

127 in my current car, a Mazda 626 V6.
