<strong class='bbc'>I've had my Porsche up to 165, briefly, on a straight stretch of very lightly travelled freeway.

However - all it takes to go fast is cojones. Speeds like that will kill you if just about anything goes wrong. I have MUCH more fun on the track, where it is significantly safer, and even though top speeds are lower (about 125mph at Laguna Seca) it requires much more <strong class='bbc'>skill[/b] to get a good lap time on a road course than it does to hold the pedal down in a straight line. [/b]</blockquote>
To me, it seems harder and gives me more of a rush to speed and keep your speed through turns. Making a s turn down a hill and coming back up while not being able to see the turn in front of you is alot more fun than going straight. Don't get me wrong, aiming the car and launching is alot of fun but it's something about the turns.

I have a Camaro, I like the straight line in that car... until I get 5,000.00 for the suspension.

In my Cadillac Eldorado Touring Coupe, I got up to 130m just shy of the 150 electronically limited..people get surprised when I whoop them in my 300 HP Caddy. 32V 4Cams, V8, FWD!

Gotta love that American Muscle.............

Wow, I'm surprised the car didn't pull you onto the shoulder. Damn torque steer.

Actually its not all that bad, only kinda haveta hold on from a dead stop, but otherwise it is just fine.. I just love revvin that Northstar Up, b/c you'll get some idiot (no offense to anyone) in like these hondas and acuras, toyotas, mtisuis and the like, that just dont expect a caddy to whoop em'. I am waoitng for the spercharger from Caddyinfo and XMS, put me past 400. LOL

A 400hp FWD Eldorado....LOL

I like to ride in Class and Style..Not to mention in Burt Force!. I am a Cadillac man. People never think of a Cadillac being fast and all, but I must admit, most people are pretty surpirsed to be blown by a Cadillac. A Cadillac is what you drive it, drive it easy and it is a nice car, drive it hard and it is a BAAAAAADDDDD car! LOL Nothing like a 4 cams and 32 valves revvin up, you should test drive an ETC some day...

fastest i went was 97 in 65 on i-90 in western mass. it was a 97 grand am.

oh yeah i only had a learner's permit at that time:)

Both the Z28 (modified) and the Lexus 400 are good for better than 150 mph but they will never see it.

blkZ28Conv,

Do you notice that the LS400 gets a much firmer/more stable ride once it hits about 95-100?

Blue Skies,

Andy

my fastest in my SI is only around 120.... (unlike North Dakota, there are people on the roads in Colorado)... found this pic today... can't wait till i get my bike...heh... i think i'd have to buy some new pants if i went over 100 in a bike...

I hate when that electronic limiter jerks the car back so it won't go faster than the chip will let it. My fastest:

115 in a 35

128 (electronic limit) in a 45 and 55

BTW, Dr. Jones, I love those Police things that tell you how fast you are going. I always speed up for them to see how fast I can go.

86 in a 30, about 3 feet out of the tail end of an s-curve :p :D (Thats my fastest to get one of those to register - this while driving my blazer :scared ) that s-curve was rather tight-turning too

I was renting a 1999 Mustang (V6 - 190hp) and that happened to me. I was not surprised after seeing the 32V badge in the back ... damn fast cars ... on the next stop light we went different ways ...

The fastest i have driven is 220kmh (downhill with the wind on my tail) and the car was feeling like it will come apart chasing a GTI VR6, my car at the time was a 2.0L Golf (chipped).

My current car is the only one I have not tried to the limit, it got up to 220kmh way to easy and still had room to go, I didn't ... I guess aging does produce a bit of common sense.

Last time I got a speeding ticket was over 3 years ago here in Mexico and over 10 years ago in the US ... altough last year got about 5 parking violations in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. and I still get upset when I remember that.

A very enjoyable fast run was driving once from Glasgow to Edinborough on a rented Ford Mondeo (4 cilynder, z rated tires, standard transmission) hit about 190 km/h, my passengers were getting rather nervous and I slowed down ...

Over 10 years back I was chased by cops - 3 times - twice I lost 'em , once I had to pay a hefty fine, one time they had a dog in the back of a pickup truck and in a corner I saw the dog fly of the back of the pick up ... why would they chase me with a free dog in the back is still unknown to me. This was in Mexico and I knew my car would beat their cars, I'll never try to outrun a cop anywhere else ...
