Not really into high speed runs, I'm all about going through corners and turns hard and fast. Maybe that's why I find myself needing alignments so often :p Time for some upgrades :)

same here, not a lot of places here that are low on traffic so that i can open up-i did 100 on the highway once bc i had just hit a long dead zone in the rush hour traffic-i coulda done way more, but i never downshifted to accelerate, kept in 5th and just nailed it

i'm a short-shifter too, i don't rev too much past 5k usually, so...

Normal drive: +5-15 depending on conditions

HWY record: 100 (30 over)

STREET record: 95 (45 over): Dodge Ram 1500 [Auto]

if the thread is expanded for tuner-drivers,

Corner normal: 25+

Corner record: 45

Between 70-90 daily

150 in a Z28

over 100 is my silverado. only shows to 100

115 in a cavalier

130 in a stock car

as fast as my 450r goes . no speed-o

I had the most enjoyable time driving the Autobahn in Germany in a Mercedes Benz doing 180 MPH (Not KPH). A very nice rush! Other than that I did 120 when I was in High School with my 1970 Olds Cutlas.

'96.4mph clocked by a gps on freeway. it was scary. mainly because i\'m a n00b. other than that one time, i\'m pretty safe, never above 75.'

Heh heh, yeah, I don't expect to be setting any new public-road-speeding records any time soon myself. Next time I want to pull some big numbers I'll do it in a controlled environment (at least the Silver State event or something similar).

155 is moving in an RX-7... things happen fast at that speed. Let's see, that's approx 230 feet per second.

I've went 140 on a WV highway, in a 82 Porsche 928 that my dad had. Ive gone 130 in my Impala SS on a local highway when I was taking it out for a test drive from the dealership. But usually I'm about 5-10 miles over the limit. I've got 4 kids and they will razz me mercilessly if I get a speeding ticket.

Tell me about it! :shocked

My goal was to hit 160, but I chickened out at 155. At that speed, it takes quite a bit longer to go from 155 to 160, and I was at speed long enough to get there, so I shut her down.

This was about 9 years ago, before kids etc. It was on a wide open freeway, no other cars in sight etc. That said, I would NEVER do it again!

Test Drive from the dealer! Was the guy from the dealership in the car with you? If he was he probably had to change his skivvys!

Fastest I have ever driven on public roads was 140 in an Audi S4 on 395 in Eastern CT. I was going from New London ferry to Boston trying to make up time. Race track 168 Richard Petty Driving Experience Lowes Motor Speedway for work. My boss at the time was a big Nascar fan. We all got to drive as part of our sales meeting. I think it was just a way for my boss to expense something he always wanted to do. Also, Nascar race cars are not made for guys who are 6'4" 270 (at the time) especially in mid August!
