Today’s was rough day! Detailed a 2005 Range Rover in Navy Metallic Blue. And yes this is the 4th vehicle I have done for these clients as I’m sure everyone has noticed. This one takes the cake as far as condition. Swirls plagued this nice Range ALL OVER! I got the paint to about 90% perfection. I just did not have enough time to get to 95-99% I have 3 exams tomorrow!!! Anyhow…

Process

PAINT:

Wash – Meg’s Gold Class

Clay – Sonus Clay (clay as I wash)

APC and Stoner’s Tarminator on lower panels and wheel wells.

Menzerna IP via Rotary and orange cutting pad @ 1500-1700 rpms (some areas twice)

Menzerna FPII via Rotary and white polishing pad @1500rpms then finished at 1000rpms

FK425 Wipe down (D@mn Menzerna IP dusting!) (Tried IP with RMG and it helped with the dusting but not much)

Collinite IW845 for durability.

Wheels/Tires/Wheel Wells:

Meg’s Wheel brightener with various brushes.

Meg’s Gold Class wash to neutralize

Tires Scrubbed with APC

Tires Dressed with Mother FX Tire shine

Wheel wells dressed with AA

Interior:

Normal vacuum. Used APC instead of woolite on the leather because of the grime it had rubbed in it. Woolite and water for everything else.

Zaino Leather on the leather and 303 on all other vinyl.

I’m probably forgetting some things but I’m tired and have studying to do!

The Sun was not friendly today. I was able to get a few shots when I arrived but the sun went down and only peeked out when I have polishing the hood (I was able to get a shot or two with direct sunlight on the hood though)

Process took 9 hours Start to finish.

jeeeeeepers, what the hell were these people doing to that poor overpriced thing? hellova job as usual. be glad you live in an area that people realize you can polish two year old paint, many citizens around me think their paint is sound as a pound for three years lmao.

Man oh man! Talk about Swirl City! You definitely pulled a 180 on that Range Rover...I think I'm becoming addicted to looking at before and after pictures, especially those 50/50 shots. It's like...whoa.

Looking at the interior pics the light obviously sucked... Some of the yellow on the seats is actually the dome light above. Thank you though!

They took all there cars through the local swirl-a-wash detailer place. The client tells me I am the only one who will be touching his vehicles from now on. He wants me to come by every two weeks and wash all 4 cars. Twice a year full out detail treatment, every 2 months waxing so forth. Good to know I will a very steady client! But then again it will probably take me 8-9 hours to wash and wax all four cars in a day!

WOW great turn around. I know the interior, esp in that color, can be a BEAR. Gotta love RR Paint though, NO ORANGE PEEL. Sweet job man.

Hehe not in a bad way, But thats an 06 man.

Crap...I forgot to ask the owner and "assumed" it was an 05....thanks for the heads up!

out of curiosty, how shows that it is an 06?

It looks amazing, over these last 4 threads from this client, I have grown a huge respect for your work! keep posting!

Wow thats like brillo wash all over the car. What are the owner thinking?

Man, madd prop for you. Great work :2thumbs:

Unbelievable work! :bow

Sad to see such a nice vehicle with such bad paint. I just did a 1995 Range Rover that even though it was a repaint, it had significantly less swirls than that.

Hopefully, with your regular care, that Range Rover will continue to look as great as it does in the after shots. :)

Maintaining their fleet is gonna be a lot of time, but i cant complain when its an Ferrari, Bentley, BMW, and Range Rover!
