Today’s was rough day! Detailed a 2005 Range Rover in Navy Metallic Blue. And yes this is the 4th vehicle I have done for these clients as I’m sure everyone has noticed. This one takes the cake as far as condition. Swirls plagued this nice Range ALL OVER! I got the paint to about 90% perfection. I just did not have enough time to get to 95-99% I have 3 exams tomorrow!!! Anyhow…
Process
PAINT:
Wash – Meg’s Gold Class
Clay – Sonus Clay (clay as I wash)
APC and Stoner’s Tarminator on lower panels and wheel wells.
Menzerna IP via Rotary and orange cutting pad @ 1500-1700 rpms (some areas twice)
Menzerna FPII via Rotary and white polishing pad @1500rpms then finished at 1000rpms
FK425 Wipe down (D@mn Menzerna IP dusting!) (Tried IP with RMG and it helped with the dusting but not much)
Collinite IW845 for durability.
Wheels/Tires/Wheel Wells:
Meg’s Wheel brightener with various brushes.
Meg’s Gold Class wash to neutralize
Tires Scrubbed with APC
Tires Dressed with Mother FX Tire shine
Wheel wells dressed with AA
Interior:
Normal vacuum. Used APC instead of woolite on the leather because of the grime it had rubbed in it. Woolite and water for everything else.
Zaino Leather on the leather and 303 on all other vinyl.
I’m probably forgetting some things but I’m tired and have studying to do!
The Sun was not friendly today. I was able to get a few shots when I arrived but the sun went down and only peeked out when I have polishing the hood (I was able to get a shot or two with direct sunlight on the hood though)
Process took 9 hours Start to finish.
