Detail of a 2010 Sandy Beige Toyota Camry

My wife got a new car 2 weeks ago. She had a 1999 Toyata avalon with 220,000 miles on it, and it needed some major repair work done to it, so we figured it was time.

The entire time my wife had the Avalon, I don't think she ever had any interest to even have the car washed. Now that she has a brand new car, that has changed. She was going to a cemetary in Long Island to visit her father, and took her Mother's car, so she asked me if I could wash it for her.

Of course, I just couldn't wash it, I had to do a full detail.

Here is what I did:
ONR Wash
Wheels and Tires with Purple Power at 4:1
Clay with Clay Magic and PB S&W for lube
IPA wipe down
Polish with PB PwS and 5.5" green flat pad using GG RO with 5" backing plate
Cleaned windows with Stoners Invisable Glass
Sealed windows with Optimum Opti-Seal
Sealed wheels with Opti-Seal
BFWD as LSP
Dressed tires with Megs High Endurance Gel

I didn't take any before pics because the paint was in pretty good shape, and with this color, it would be hard to capture the defects.

Here is what the clay looked like after I finished the entire car.

Thanks for looking.

Very nice. I gotta start using tape more often.:)
How does Purple Power work for you for wheel cleaning? I bought Simple Green a while back, but haven't used it because I found out later that it was not good for the wheels.

Taping the car really took some time, but it did save me time in removing the polish from the trim. The Purple Power works very well at 4:1. This car has wheel covers, so I had no problem with using it. On my painted wheels, or chrome wheels, I would stick to P21S

Nice work.

The car looks awesome, the paint looks really wet and glossy!

Thanks Nick.
BFWD has that effect on all colors.

nice work on the toyo. i know you won't get paid for this one but lets hope you at least get your just rewards.

All I am hoping for, is for her to say to me, now that you are doing my car as well, you can get all the products that you need.

Great work on the wife's new car Barry, now you got some more detailing on the home front to do.:drool5:

Thanks Harry,

I had to do the whole car with one green pad. I had to clean it often.

Barry -most welcome again! Received some dimpled orange pads from someone at work a few weeks ago, so hiding stuff is getting harder to do :White Horse:

Nice shine you worked up there my friend. Good luck with the Camry. My wife had one for about 10 years and it was a great car. The thought crossed my mind lately that Toyota is probably dealing on them.

I have a funny feeling that the wife knew exactly what you would do when she asked for a "wash" :cornut:

We have always had great luck with Toyota's.

I am pretty sure she knew what I would do as well. Hopefully she will be a little more open to my need for more products;)
