spray and wipe vs other qd's

If all I have is dust/light finger smudges on my vehicle, do you think that I could get by with just a regular qd that I could buy local? (mother's showtime, meguiar's) Or would spray and wipe be better? I could care less about gloss enhancing properties from a qd as I just want it to have great lubrication and clean the surface well.

I would go with the spray and wipe.

I had quit using QD's unless my paint was absolutely clean post wash. I know that some could/can QD light dust without marring, I can't.

S&W changed that, honestly. I will S&W when the paint is farily dirty without marring, it has truely changed the way that I care for my paint.

Having said that, I know the limits of most products that I use and I try not to push them to there. When in doubt, I wash.

Light needs to be the operative word here. People tend to get carried away with QD's, assuming they can literally "wash" a surface with them. WRONG....
And when in doubt, wash.......
If you have to use more tha one mf, you should have washed !!

:yeah
S&W for me too ...
followed up with Final Detail.
I tried many of the QD's for light dust removal and always ended up with the mico marks from the dust/towel.

I use a mixture of s&w and quickshine. IT cleans great, doesn't leave any surface marring and gives a little pop to the paint.

I used to use Meg's Quik Detail. Now I'm a convert to S&W. Works much better and seems to leave a little better surface. I know it doesn't contain any gloss enhancers, but I think my finish is a little smoother after using S&W. It's like a baby's butt.
