Critique my Business Card!

The card in #15 is far better; just needs to be tweaked a bit. Agree that your name and title need to be moved down a bit.

I'm not crazy about the business name, but OC Klasse is worse - no one will know what you're referring to. How about something simple like Ultimate Detail or OC Ultimate Detail?

I'd use Owner-Operator or Owner/Operator, vs. Owner and Operator.

Hope this helps.

I dont think consumers know KLASSE and will the associate it with detailing their automobile?

the vast majority of cars I would be detailing would be Mercedes, BMW, etc... so I need something very "elite"...because around here (Newport Beach, Newport Coast), it's all about high dollar automobiles.

I have one potential customer:

Enzo

Carrera GT

2 SLRs

Murcie Spyder

Koenigsegg CCX

Saleen S7

Maybach

etc...

see what I mean? lol.

OC - I am from NYC and I know Newport Beach CA is car crazy with big boy cars. Whats wrong with, or is it taken already, Newport Beach "xxxxxxx" Detailing?

I'd go to a place with that name if it were in NY because I associate Ferraris and Lamborghini's with that name.

Look at the town I live in, Larchmont! Would you go to Larchmont Detailing? Larchmont Golf, yes, but detailing, no way!

I'm sorry if I am seeming ignorant, but do you mean me call it Newport Detailing? If so, I will certainly look into it...I know that Newport Coast Detailing would definitely not be taken, maybe that's an option. Thanks!

"XXXXXXX" = you fill in the word. Newport Beach Elite Detailing, Newport Beach Rich Guy Detailing, Newport Beach Prominent Detailing, you get the picture.

Be prepared to give your lawyer/accountant 2 or3 names for your Inc or LLP in case they are taken.

I'm personally not a big fan of using entire shots on business cards, I like to use a closeup such that the shot fills the card *and* provides a uniform background. Post #15 is probably the closest to this. On that one I might outline the words in black, just so they stand out, but otherwise I like it. (for an example of what I mean, here is my postcard: http://gtaindetail.com/fp/gtapost1.jpg)

Alternatively you can go with something abstract, which is what I ended up doing; but that doesn't seem to be the way you're moving...my card:

That reminds me, one tip that I learned the hard way that might work for you too; try to keep your business card/website consistent. I ended up using all the same color/text etc... it didn't start that way though. :)

How do you guys like the name "Newport Excellence Detailing"

It seems the names you are putting together just dont flow well...Or they are read as trying to sound important or highly regarded...but the words just dont fit well together...I dont know how to explain it

Here are the names I chose from when coming up with my name:

________ Concours

Flawless Finish

________ Showroom Elegance

________ Auto Perfection

Prestige Detail of ________

Auto Perfection of Newport

_______ Final Touch

Just place your city in for the ____ and see if it works.

Thanks for the help...some of them come off the tongue well.....

Newport Prestige Detail

Newport Auto Perfection

Assuming your target audience is executive types, I would suggest going with as simple a name as possible without any adjectives in it. I think that sort of clientele has a lot of experience in the business world and can easily see through exotic sounding names. In some ways they cheapen the image.

If you have to say you are excellent, you probably are not.

I think "Newport Automotive Detailing" sounds very professional without being hokie or amatuer.

I can tell you , my greatest fear when hiring a detailer would be that the company is run by a kid who likes to wash cars but knows nothing about hwo to do it well. The marketplace is full of that type of operation and usually they have over-the-top names.

Good luck.

I think you're definitely heading in the right direction. Like others have said, I also think the card you posted on #15 is the best so far.

Where are you guys getting the programs to make the cards with the pics of the cars on? I got a business card maker and it pretty muched sucked.
