Critique my Business Card!

blurry cam but you get the idea, i just keep mine pretyt simple, i drew up my logo and had it in print form, it's funny to hear people ask if i washed that lambo/ferrari/lotus. gotta love country folk.

Remember, when you add color, you will be going with CYMK, 4 color process, and that could cost you $200-400 per 1,000. Most local print shops can't due 4 color, so you will have to find a shop that runs bigger presses. Try Press Time in Anaheim at 714-630-8780. Ask for Matthew. (I am in the printing business).

I was able to have 2,000 full color cards, glossy, heavy card stock printed for $160.

Assuming your target audience is executive types, I would suggest going with as simple a name as possible without any adjectives in it. I think that sort of clientele has a lot of experience in the business world and can easily see through exotic sounding names. In some ways they cheapen the image.

If you have to say you are excellent, you probably are not.

I think "Newport Automotive Detailing" sounds very professional without being hokie or amatuer.

I can tell you , my greatest fear when hiring a detailer would be that the company is run by a kid who likes to wash cars but knows nothing about hwo to do it well. The marketplace is full of that type of operation and usually they have over-the-top names.

Good luck.

I am 17 and i am starting my business i have everthing set-up the money, the knowledge, detailing experience of reading trough here, and "interning" with a detailer just to learn, all i need is the products and my dad teaching me to use the rotary......

but can i ask should i quit? i mean do you think i will have a bad look cause im 17 and potential customers might not trust my expertise? will the business world be cruel to a 17 year old entrepeneur?

Anyone can chime in if they want.......

I really like that card. Nice and simple. My only suggestion is to have the name of your business stand out a bit more, maybe make that same font and size bold.

Agreed. Make your business name as big and bold as possilble (with out being too much of an eyesore remember the final size of the card is 2inches by 3.5inches)

Cool Bentley. Did you get your photo from istockphoto.com?

to tell you the truth, I don't remember. I wanted a luxury car a little more "exotic" than a Mercedes or Bimmer, and this does the trick :2thumbs:

Brandon,

Looks like you ended up with what appears to be a well designed card. Personally, I liked your original card much better. Simply because the original card had all of the important information; the name of your company, your name, exactly what it is you do and your contact information. Your final card appears to be lacking any information about exactly what it is you do.

Are you perfecting automobiles or detailing automobiles?

The information on your final card looks like you are in the business of perfecting automobiles in Newport. Oh, it is certainly a beautiful card. Very impressive. However, there is not a single word about detailing. Think about it. The word detailing is nowhere.

Brandon, are you sure this is your final card?
