i actually just ordered some AJT and CJ.do i really need some Prime or can i do a 50/50 wipedown and just use the AJT?

AJ seems to work fine over Optimum Poli-Seal but I haven't use that combo long enough to fully assess durability. Therefore, I'd expect as long as you don't use an oily final glaze, AJ should work fine over most polishes.

I do feel you get the best look and durability over Prime.

Prime by machine especially.

I prefer the JW only shot. the 5050 wax although making it look richer, seems to take the clarity and sharpness of the reflected images on the doors but the bonnet still looks great

I dunno wax just seems like too much work when all you have to do is spray on the Jett

Prime is good to have for a bunch of reasons, the main one being it's a great chemical cleaner. The fact that it works so well as a base for AJ is just a bonus. :)

Beading is still good, it's been about 3.5 months since this was applied. Car still looks great when it's clean. Ya gotta hand it to the sealants, they really simplify and minimize car care.

Thats the type of beading I see on my car when its really dirty. I have AJT over Prime on. Its definetly not the best beading (poor IMO) but the slickness is still there.

IMO, I wouldn't neccessarily call it beading if the car was clean when that pic was taken. My beading looks like that on sections of my hood when the car is really dirty and my car currently wears AJT over Prime. I renew AJT after every wash. The finish is still slick however, it feels almost as if their is a shield on the paint when I rub it with my finger after a wash.

AJT isn't known as a beading LSP.

Here's the beading on mine after about 6 months (Prime Acrylic topped with AJT):

I just maintained with a QD after a wash, usually alternating between Glos and FK425.
