Collinite Spray Wax

Very Creative Idea Luke.

So as a "Spray Wax," do you just use 845 now as a Wipe-on-Wipe Off wax or does it have to Haze after spraying and spreading and then subsequently be buffed off?

I have always used it as a wax on, haze, and buff off type of wax. With that said, it is not a quick wax, but the process itself is sped up tremendously. I did my vehicle tonight and it took less than 10 minutes to spray the panels and spread the wax with a foam applicator. I went and ate diner, come back and performed a swipe test to determine if it was dry, and buffed the wax off. With good conditions, it does not take much time to dry.

I figured this way you can apply it thinner and save wax, come away with less waste, apply it quicker and with less mess, and it is much more ergonomical in terms of holding a sprayer versus the 845 bottle or a dispensing bottle.

Allright mate.

I thought 845 already a liquid wax, but it's a paste.

But do i need to change the bottle to a sprayer? Since I don't have the collinite bottle sprayer for 845.

Thanks

Ohhh, so you apply via foam applicator. You've just made the standard application more convenient and time-saving. Thanks 4 sharing bud.

It is straight 845, no water.

Place the bottle of 845 in warm water and let it sit there until it is a thinner consistancy. Take the bottle and shake it well. After the 845 has a chance to warm up, and is shaken well, the consistancy changes from a paste into a liquid. When you get the 845 for the first time, it is generally very thick so the heat and the shaking will help it liquify. Again, do not add water to the wax.

I usually just beat the bottle against a table a few times and shake it profusely...I haven't had a bottle break on me (yet) but do it at your own risk....or just use Luke's safer method. :chuckle:

PS Luke, your sample w/the sprayer is arriving tomorrow. :xyxthumbs

@vp920b, since you have a 500ml bottle, if you pour the collinite into that bottle, you will not be left with much room. Maybe pour 12 oz of the 845 into the bottle and shake it really well as having the extra room will help the 845 liquify.

Haha, it is just a wax. Apply it how you want with a DA, Foam applicator, Microfibe, etc. I like the ease of Opti-seal and how you spray and wipe. I used the same approach with the 845 and was happy with it. So yes, the standard way of applying the wax, but when you spray the 845 on the panel, it is easier and more uniform to work with compared to pouring wax onto a small foam applicator.

Something that others have done is open the bottle and push in the wax that sits near the cap, which gives you some room to shake it. It comes thick, shake it until it liquifies then put the sprayer into it.

Also, thank you very much, I appreciate it Matt ;)

Well I finally waxed my S2000 yesterday with it after a wash. I think I had the whole car washed and waxed in around an hour - the waxing took around 15 minutes or so.

I had some trouble with the pump sprayer. It wasn't clogged, but it had trouble resetting - after each spray I had to pull it up manually before I could depress it again to spray more.

Overall, it was very convenient. Much better than the top that comes on the 845 bottles, and the 4oz sample bottle was much easier to work with.

Speaking of which...maybe Collinite needs to come out with a real spray wax/detailer. I'd buy it. :xyxthumbs

I just used the AG sample size sprayer. It worked flawlessly. Had an insulated mug that I filled with hot water. Placed the bottle inside for 10 minutes and when I pulled it out, it was super thin. After 3 priming pumps it came out very nicely. I will pull out my other spray bottle and see how if there is any coagulation or dry wax issues.
