Collinite Spray Wax

Curious to see if the sprayer caked up? I have an after market dispenser on my bottle that works well, but any residue left on it turns into a hard white crust after a few days. I would think the same would happen to the sprayer head?

First spray tonight was perfect. Shook it up and sprayed it a few times. No residues anywhere :spot

That's very normal and a property unique to 845.

I just shake it vigorously for a 60 secs and it re-liquifies. I've never needed to heat it.

Mine is so solid in the bottle, you can't shake it. Borrowing from another thread I found on the topic, it's like a candle in a bottle.

I tried this out the other day. I just cut the bottom stem of a trigger to fit the bottle. Screwed the trigger on ran it under hot water for about a minute came back shook it up. and insane. 2 spays and I made it the whole way around the car. I sprayed it directly to a 6 inch pad on a pc. This is probaly one of the best dumbest idea's I have seen in a while! Thanks for the tip.

Took one of our 4oz Collinite 845 samples and decided to throw a fine mist sprayer on it to see how it would work. It shoots a VERY fine mist, similar to the Meguiar's QD bottles. Perfect.

If anyone wants to get a sample with your next order, visit this link - Free Samples with your Order

Keep in mind we ask that you don't double up on free samples. (ie pick 845 and 1 other sample, but not 2 845s). If you want one of the sprayers I used, put a note in the shipping comments (something like "Include small black mist sprayer as per Matt" will do). Thanks OP for the idea - I'm going to use this to wax my car this weekend after I wash it. The 4oz bottle is perfect - easy to hold and fits in your pocket.

Keep in mind to get the 2 free samples you must purchase something. If you just want the samples, they are available for purchase on this page - Samples For Sale

Any questions, feel free to PM me. Thanks again OP for the idea and hopefully I'm not stealing anyone's thunder here...just trying to help out!

Seems as if 845 has gone high tech. I think Matt's idea of using a cap is the best but I do suspect that after sitting through a winter that the wax would congeal enough to not allow the mister to pump without being cleaned with warm water first but time will tell in regard to that.

Yup. I have the clear cap as well [and the samplers from AG I assume come in their sample bottles with standard threaded caps that can be placed on them when it comes to long term storage] I do think time will tell, but it is good to see that the idea has a little more legs than I had initially thought. I would like to see how fine the mist is from your mister Matt, but I can only imagine they are similar.

Thanks for putting this together. And there's no worries about stealing my thunder. If I had more pull with Collinite I would have started at the top. I had talked with the guys at Collinite and they liked the idea but due to safety reasons they stick with their cap design.

I would have liked to have bottled the Collinite in spray bottles, but I have nowhere near the resources that you do, nor the time. This will hopefully become a new method of application as it should save product and time :hifive:

However, if you feel compelled to send me a few bottles for the idea that would be cool... :grinno:

How about this - send me your shipping info and I'll send you out a sample with the spray cap free of charge, and you can test it / post pics? :heelclick

Matt

Even if it does eventually clog the sprayer, chances are good that it will, just run some hot water through the sprayer.

We use Hi-Temp Poly Plate in this manner on some of our wholesale work. Speeds up application very nicely.

Definitely! Thank you.

I can get you any pictures/comparisons you need.

Hi all,

I just receive the 845 collinite.

But how about the mix? How much water and the 845? I got 500ML sprayer. Want to try it soon.

Cheers

It is straight 845, no water.

Place the bottle of 845 in warm water and let it sit there until it is a thinner consistancy. Take the bottle and shake it well. After the 845 has a chance to warm up, and is shaken well, the consistancy changes from a paste into a liquid. When you get the 845 for the first time, it is generally very thick so the heat and the shaking will help it liquify. Again, do not add water to the wax.

Very Creative Idea Luke.

So as a "Spray Wax," do you just use 845 now as a Wipe-on-Wipe Off wax or does it have to Haze after spraying and spreading and then subsequently be buffed off?
