... I am.... to much debris drops off of those darn things! I find myself hanging back in traffic so I can pass them quickly in order to minimize the chance of debris shot-pening the front of my car.

Am I alone with this anal-retentive manuver?

i understand man, everytime a dump truck is even 100 yard in front of my i try not to be anywhere behind it and try to pass it as soon as i can.

and they pack those things so full that that piece a crap cheesecloth on top...thats like 20 yrs old with holes in it doesnt hold anything in...it just ricochets it all around.....:(

I live near a couple of huge gravel quarries. I've learned to stay as far away from these gravel trucks as possible. Even when they are a couple of lanes over to the right if you pass them on the freeway you can here the bits of gravel and sand hitting your vehicle.

I can't stand dump trucks!!! I had just got my dream car (M3) just before Thanksgiving and about 2 weeks later on the way to work I got rear ended by one. I honestly thought I was going to lose it. We were in stop and go traffic on the highway and I saw the truck pull up behind. No big deal right? Always better behind you than following one. Anyways, my line of traffic start to move and BAM! Turns out the drive "lost" me and started to move as soon as the car in front of me started to move. She, yes I said she completely cleared my bumper and got my trunk.

Anyways, all is back to original and the body guy did an excellent job matching the paint. All in all, things could have been a lot worse, she could have ended up in my back seat.

That and garbage trucks:mad:. After one of them lost a piece of debris and nailed the hood and windshield of my truck on the highway I stay far away.

I just ordered a pot of 915 any suggestions on layering, application and curing? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I'm thinking this wax will be my final application for winter.:Car smiley:

Harry,
915 is an excelent wax, both for durability and looks. It is considered by Collinite, as their "Beauty Wax". It has a little bit better durability then 845IW, and not as much as 476.
Make sure that you apply very, very thin, otherwise it will be very dificult to remove. Also, try to apply in the shade, and do not apply to a hot panel. Make sure that the paint is very clean. You may want to do a IPA wipedown, or apply a good cleaner wax prior to the 915. It can be layered but allow for at least 12 hours between coats.
