CMA Talk 2011

Mr. Clean

The Man Who Knows The Man
Footloose...really??? I don't get the fascination with Brad and Carrie. He's funny...she's not. He's talented...she's not. But I did enjoy Bocephus' appearance and self satire (I guess that was what that was supposed to be - first thumbs down goes to the writers). Then we get back to back awards for the pop group known as The Band Perry (original, eh?) ... yawn. Little Miranda rocked the house with her new single Baggage Claim, not really very country but still a rollickin' tune. Taylor Twit (I literally changed channels). Finally... Kenny Chesney and the glorious Grace Potter and the great vocal collaboration You and Tequila. Let's see what else the evening has in store. (doesn't Faith look good?)

Yeah for Gregg Allman, but Zac Brown...lose the knit cap and the "homeless" look...what's with that anyway?

What is it about Jennifer Nettles that makes me a little crazy (in a good way)?

To be certain there are degrees of talent. Yeah, she'd probably win a high school talent show, but as compared to the "best" of country music, nope she's way down the line. Proven by her duet with Paisley tonight her voice isn't that strong and she struggles with pitch. Like Taylor, she is very likely a user of the auto tune software.

Hey now I like Taylor swift !

I missed the show but saw the Faith Hill interveiw and Sugarland the night before. Faith Hill is as gorgeous as ever.

I adore kenny Chesney!:D

I grew up on Country music, and saying something like this where I live would get me killed, but I hate this new Country crap. Almost all of it. Every time I try to listen to Country radio, all of it is songs about how country the singer and his buddies are. Every song is about "drinkin beer in the back of a truck on a dirt road"...there is absolutely no originality with any of these new artists. There are still a few songs that I really like, but for the most part its became obnoxious.

:yourrock I couldn't agree more. Although to be fair, sometimes they sing about "drinkin' beer in the back of a truck on a gravel road"

still like Randy Travis and Clint Black best. the music has certainly changed . some of the newer artists are talented witness Brad Paisley and oh Trisha Yearwood but Blake Shelton no way.

I like some of the music but not sure about the rock country..... I like zac brown, I read about them sometimes..... they seem like good people who give back and are humble for the chance they are given. They played a few songs at a gas station one time cause a child was there and sand chicken fried to them at the gas pump! There aren't may groups/artist around that would even attempt to do that! Miranda has become very cocky since she won last year and is now married to Blake. Just can't understand. George Straight is as country as it get (with class) and many others pushed the envelope of country music like Marty Stewart.

I will say I don't think Taylor is as talented as people make her out to be, but I urge you go look up a youtube video of Vince Gill and Carrie Underwood singing How Great Thou Art, and say that she isn't a talented singer.

I dont really care how talented people are .

Sometimes you just like someones voice and their music.

I wonder now how I liked so much Bob Dylan or Neil Young back in the day!:D

I love Jamey Johnson and his whole outlaw country style. I wish there were more like him. Some of his songs have some pretty hardcore content, but its real life stuff that he went through, and he makes no apologies for it.

ZZ, I was just yankin' MC's chain (note the smiley). I do this each time he mentions this demented and deviant form of auditory abuse. ;)

Because everyone has different taste in music This thread reminds me how much I love love love being single! :yay

I can listen to whatever the **** I want to and not hear any crap about it!:D
