Just an FYI. I sent Clearkote an email asking what products would I need to maintain a black car that was in very good overall condition. They answered my email within hours on a Sunday. That in itself is impressive. Below is their response. Any users here that would agree/disagree with what they are saying?
Mike:
Thank you for asking about our ClearKote Products.
Mike the best Actual Wet Look can be achieved by using three different products.
1. Wash car. Don't worry about drying off.
2. Use "Red Moose Machine Glaze". This will remove all of your paint issues and all of the surface damage. This is designed for dark and silver colors. You might need to go over the surface more then one time, depending on the surface damage.
Generally speaking, one pass will take care of it. RMG contains no wax.
3. Use "Yellow Moose Cream Wax". This will do nothing but improve the clarity of the surface and improve the depth and reflective gloss. YMW contains no abrasives, but contains a wax. That is in case you want to finish the process at a later date, you will have surface protection.
4. Use "Carnauba Moose Wax" to seal the surface and give the finish a genuine wet look. While you remove the excess Carnauba Moose Wax, it will take about 12 hours for it to fully cure on the surface.
5. The next day, wipe it down and maintain the gloss with our "Quik Shine". This is a Quick Detailer that is water based and it can be used on every thing on the outside of the car. (Except tires, won't hurt them, just not designed for them.) Then use QS on everything inside the car, (except cloth and carpets), QS can even be used on any after market tinted windows. You will be one happy camper !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's not hard to use any of our products. All are Very User Friendly. When using any of our products you will go thru a small learning curve.
Just remember, less is better. Once this procedure is completed, it will look like you dipped you car in a bucket of paint and set it on the drive way to dry. The surface will look like you are looking into a pool of dark clear oil.
Q.S. is water based. All of our other products, are 100% petroleum based. This puts oils back into the paint that evaporate over time. This makes the paint, rubber and any plastic live longer. All of those items are petroleum based. Like products on like products.
I hope this has answered your questions and I look forward to doing business with you. Should you choose to purchase our products, you will not be disappointed.
