BoxsterCharlie said:I ran a detailing session for a half dozen Boxsters this spring, and everyone agreed that the "Ragtop" brand cleaner and protectant are the best products (better than Porsche). Very easy to use, and the overspray can be removed without too much difficulty (much easier than going the "mask off the car" route).
I use a stiff nylon brush to do the cleaning--lot the foam sit for about ten minutes first. Then get creative with your strokes with the brush. On the Boxster top, a 45 degree angle is super effective to ride the 'grain' of the fabric, but you should also use 90 degree strokes front/back, side/side.
LOTS of coats of sealant are needed to really get that factory fresh repellancy back--I use about a 1/3 of a can per application!
Oh, and never just clean the top and not seal it--it will soak up water like an old pair of jeans! For this reason this is only an annual treatment for me.
Good luck!
