Civic vs. Show AND Go

Had the pleasure to work on this 1992 Civic. I was surprised as when the customer described it as "just a civic". When he pulled up, I see a turbo/IC, customer interior, full bodykit, big rims, ect. Very nice.

Anyways, it was a nice relaxing day today. Total detail time only took about 4 hours! I made record time for this detail. :)

Process for exterior:

Wash

Hand polished with SSR2

Topped with Souverian

Tires got some "dress it right"

Process for interior:

Vacuum

Scrub mats, as well as hose them down

Didn't touch the seats

Dash and other plastics got "natural look" by poorboys

Glass was scrubbed with a microfiber then buffed out with anouther MF

Engine Bay:

Cool (Stupid turbo timer kept the car running for almost 5 minutes after I took the key out) :(

Degrease with "Gunk"

Dress with Hot Shine

Engine components dresseed with the Water based dressing "Dress it Right"

First of all, my new shopvac:

Nice work, Steve.

Any reason you chose to hand polish it? No durable sealant/wax for the upcoming winter?

There were just certain areas that required polishin at all, and I hadn't hand polished in a long time. Thought I'd give it a go. No need for a durable sealant, as it was going into storage when I was done with it.

Excellent work - did it have a stereo setup in it?

Yup, but his car was broken into earlier, so I couldn't open the rear window mostly due to one of the gas struts popping out and scratching the crap out of the rear hatch. :furious:
