Civic Si vs. RSX vs. Tiburon

Sheesh, they do that on FWD? If you guys had just called it a "Posi" I would have known exactly what you were talking about...(of course, I still would have said "they do that on FWD?" I haven't heard anything about that since Torsen [are they still in business?] was working on something like that, in fact I think they had a Torsen diff in the AWD Pontiac 6000 STE if anybody remembers that...I almost bought one)
Alot of the present gen don't know what 'posi' is. Posi was originally just GM's name for an LSD. Each respective manufacturer had their own name. And yes, Torsen are still in business. They supply all of VW's lsd's and most likely audi's. I know they helped design the diff for Volvo's, but I think they make it with another company IIRC.

The Pontiac 6000 did have a torsen diff, torque sensitive. In fact, Torsen invented their LSD back in the 50's, but it was never sold until the 80's, iirc.

LSD's on fwd help reduce torque steer too. They've allowed fwd's to have more useful hp.

RSX looks good, by the way, should post some bigger pics!

Yeah, I know...it was actually "Posi-Traction". I always generically called it a limited-slip differential, I didn't realize the "present gen" had gone acronym happy and shortened it to "LSD" (and as I said, I had no clue that they were doing it on FWD). Thanks for the Torsen info...now that I'm thinking of it the company was Gleason, that had the torque-sensing (Torsen) diff...but it looks like they've been sold a gazillion times and been through as many name changes...perhaps Gleason still exists separately.
