Civic Si vs. RSX vs. Tiburon

Well, sales manager passed us off to another salesperson who worked with us, but the original guy got the credit on it. Paid a few hundred more for it than my target price (but still was $800 below Edmunds TMV price), but it only worked out to a couple of bucks a month.

Si sedan will be out by the end of November--not sure if that interests her.

Si if you want the new car, RSX if you want the dealer service--Tiburon would not be on my personal radar. :D

ive seen the SI sedan on the road already...nasty

sorry if i missed the end of the story...but what did you buy? the RSX-S?

Yes, bought the last RSX-S this particular dealer will ever have. After about 600 miles on it, so far very happy. I will say that the ride is very stiff. Was really bad the first day...until I checked the tires and found out they were pumped to 41 psi...when they should have been @ 31! Ugh. Dealers...

Going to Jimmy Buff-it's in the next couple of weeks for swirl removal. I cannot believe how bad they swirled it with only one wash. And the salesman swears they hand wash - no automatic. Seriously, it takes me 6 months of hand washing to swirl a car as bad as they did in a single wash. Then they sent us couplons for 2 free washes at a local automatic swirl inducer. Anybody want them? :)

That's odd, last time I was out car-shopping I found dealers under-inflating the tires to make the ride feel cushier.

You'll notice just 2 posts above yours he says he allready bought the RSX-S...

Dealer had the tires at 41 psi? Maybe they inflated the tires the night before you came to buy. Ive seen my own tires change 5 or 6 psi without moving, just going from a cold morning to a warm afternoon. The RSX is a manual right? Congrats on the purchase!

In the US, all RSX-S's are manuals.

Basically, she wants something small & sporty - she's tired of the 4-door & @ 33 years old feels it's a last ditch effort to get away with driving something 'young'. (okay, just realized I can't let her read this thread!) :bolt

No kids, no large pets, and I have a truck so hauling anything isn't an issue. We want to spend somewhere between $20-$23.

20-23k?...

SI with Nav and body kit....without a doubt......

trust me 23K...Nav will seal the deal

the only bad thing about RSX is the interior.....and Si fixed it

and it has LSD :D

We drove an Si w/Nav. And it's funny that people have such different impressions. We felt the interior of the Si looked and felt very cheap and poorly designed - especailly compared to the RSX-S (with leather). Both the wife and I had the same impression - they tried too hard in desiging the interior. Actually preferred the exterior of the Si, but the interior was so hideous (IMHO) that it was a total turn off. And being a Honda guy myself, I really wanted to like the Si, but it was so disappointing. The RSX interior is very spartan, but classy and well laid out. Even though the cars are the same size, the RSX interior feels much larger. Aside from the lack of bells and whistles, the RSX feels a lot like my MB Coupe did - for $10,000 less.

I currently own a 06 Civic SI !! There's NOTHING like the SI In the market for the Price RAnge..

The only problem is that its really hard to find it.. :) Si has 205HP, LSD, GORGEOUS interior, you'll love it :)

K20Z3 way to go

Read 2 posts above yours. He allready bought the RSX. Or even the post directly above yours.

By the way, the Si has 197 hp. And there are other cars on the market for the same price that offer more for your money, actually. Mazdaspeed 3 for starters. 263 hp and 280 lbs-ft. LSD, 18"wheels, levelling HIDs.

Finally got a chance to snap a pic, unfortuantely, light was already low (5 PM!). This is a fresh detail by Jim of Jimmy-Buffit's. Klasse Twins of course. I will probably go back to z on it in the spring. The Klasse is a little deeper, but the Zaino is much more reflective and has more pop on black.

Limited Slip Differential

Sheesh, they do that on FWD? If you guys had just called it a "Posi" I would have known exactly what you were talking about...(of course, I still would have said "they do that on FWD?" I haven't heard anything about that since Torsen [are they still in business?] was working on something like that, in fact I think they had a Torsen diff in the AWD Pontiac 6000 STE if anybody remembers that...I almost bought one)
