Hi all,
I don't pos very often, but when I post, it's worth reading, :grinno:
The car is a Citroen DS, 32 years old and never seen water, soap or wax ! :scared:
The car belongs to a friend of me and he asked if it was possible to "restore" it more or less.
Condition was horrible, dull, lifeless and rough as sandpaper !
I took me 5 hours to to the entire exterior :
Considering the original state, I was surprised how good the car came out.
The paint was badly cracked on some places, probably a bad respray some years ago.
Only the left side came out like I wanted, but the hood and trunk were still a litlle dull.
The owner on the other hand was surprised and happy as a young puppy when he came to collect the car...
Cheers
Wally

I took me 5 hours to to the entire exterior :

- Washed using mitt and Zymol shampoo
- Problem areas were treated with MC2 citrus degreaser and OXO brushes
- Clayed with Swissol clay (was yellow, now black !
)
- Polishing with SSR 3, 2.5 and 2 using rotary on 1000-2000 rpm with green and bleu Sonus pads
- Difficult areas and chrome were polished using AIO
- Waxed the whole car with Natty's bleu
- Tyres with Turtle wax extreme
- All black and trim with 303
- Windows were scraped off with a gilette blade !, then cleaned with glassex window cleaner
