Circuluar Polisher Help Question?

Hello all,

I just ordered my first Circular polisher,

I have some swirl marks, hairline scratches, and minor abrasions on the roof of my brand new Nissan 350z, silver stone.

I am going to be using 3M compounds and polishers, followed by BlackFire protectants.

I will be using low speeds of 1,000 RPM's and purchased all the needed pads, cotton, wool, foam, etc.

My question: Is this safe for me to do? Can I easily harm my finish? I am following directions from Classic Motoring's website.

I have moderate detailing skills, though I am a power tool rookie, and am a bit nervous.

However, I am 10 times more nervous about letting some highschool kid at the dealership mess with the paint further, using Turtle Wax!

Thanks very much for any insight and advice,

Eric

I really don't think you need the circualr since your car is fairly new. The PC should be able to take the swirls out without worrying about burning the paint.

My .02 cents, I have a 350Z and used 3M Swirl Remover, it worked great.

Good idea Vazee,

I'll start with the PC and then upgrade to a circular at a later date, when I have more practice with power tools.

My Girlfriend has a dark red / burgandy 2002 Hyundai Santa fe, that is trashed with swirl marks and scratches, I think I'll practice on her car first.

I also ordered 3M swirl remover and compound.

Thanks,

Eric

Thanks Vazee,

Thats a great price, I was about to pay $30.00 more for the exact same tool!

Will be sure to get the yellow pad. Thanks again!
