Centrifugal force pushes product to the outside edges of the pad regardless if you're using wool, foam, or these new cool pads. Now I realize that centrifugal force isn't linear, but rather exponential as you move closer to the outside edge of the pads, but regardless the physics of the situation show that the "migration" or "build-up" isn't quite as they try to make it to be in the video. The reason there seems to be more build-up in the center is because any product that gets to that area (like when smearing compounds across a panel / spreading across a panel at a slow speed) is not going to get the same amount of speed+heat as the portions on the outer edge, and therefor doesn't break down.
This is correct. The way I see it is the center of the pad is really just wasted space. After priming, I just apply polish about 2/3rds of the way out. That works for me, and I don't usually have any problems.
