Challenging Black Bimmer 530i

Boy: this was a monster to do! The entire finish was badly swirled and scratched. And, of course, it is Black.

Here's what I faced at the start:

Soooooooo....it was a double compound. First with wool and 3M Extra Cut, then foam and 3M Perfect-It 3000 compound.

Some work-in-progress shots of the door

Most of the small peppering is gone

Here's a good comparison of Before and After

A direct flash from the camera will also show you how the finish is doing!

After the double compounding, I used Menzerna 106 with a Meguiar's yellow polish pad to remove some trace scratches. Then back to 3M Dark Glaze followed by 3M Ultrafina SE.

Monday....it's wax time which will be #26.

This was a hard clear coat that finished nicely.

Great correction work Toto,:bow Are you coming to Clearwater for the Expo next month?

Thanks Sir! I will not be attending the Expo next month. Like a lot of people in the auto business, the volume of cars to recondition is way down and I can't afford the trip.

I might make the AutoGeek Detail Fest though.
