Does anyone still use Crystalguard Pro / Quick here?
I was just introduced to this product a few months ago and decided to try it based on the posts from some my350z site. I realized that the owner of that site was also the wholesaler and thus biased but I figured the users would have complained about it if it was crap.
I did a little N00B prep work by hand washing with a microfiber mitt and Zymol bulk car wash, used a Meguiars clay bar focusing on the hood and front bumper area, then used a Mothers and Meguiars polish and lastly washed and dried the car before starting.
The Pro kit specified 2-3 hours between stages but I let it sit for 24-30 hours between each for full effect. I also did a double coat of the CG Pro top coat and let that sit for another 8 hours before rinsing with water as specified. The car was then covered with a car cover and I let it sit in the garage for about 8 days. The shine seemed okay but the surface was not very slippery at all. This concerned me but I had faith since the Pro kit was over 1 bill. 1 more week passed and it rained on the trunk and there were water spots like crazy. Hand washing couldn't get it out. I had to polish it out. So IMHO the pro kit doesn't work at all. I decided to use the CG quick as a test and that seemed to work a little better but it doesn't last at all either. Water spots like crazy even at night from a small drizzle! I used to use the MLM drywash n guard which was really easy and quick to apply but that lasted only through 2 washes or 2 rains. The Crystal Guard stuff lasted even shorter which was pretty sad.
I'm just wondering if anyone still uses this stuff and what their experiences are currently for durability. I have had feedback from one friend who noticed that the car did look a lot glossier, especially at night. It's a 98 Acura Integra GSR that has been garage kept and cared for.
