wfedwar said:I like it a lot, but probably wouldn't recommend it if you weren't using other Werkstat products. Not that it would have compatibility issues, but that shipping would kill you on just a couple of bottles of detailer.
Not trying to be a smart a**, but if it was almost as good as FK425... why not just use FK425?shakashaunz said:Agreed on the shipping, that's what has kept me from buying anymore (Igot mine from the classifieds). I use strictly nuba paste waxes on my car and it works very well with them, Better than prima slick and almost as well as FK425.

mborner said:Good question. My main concern is compatibility. I know that , for the most part, sealants and waxes don't mix well. I want to make sure that if I washed my car, then quick detailed it, there would be no issues waxing it after a quick detail. I also want to avoid issues using a quick detailer over a fresh coat of 845.
As an example, I know that Z6 is sealant based and although I could put a coat of 845 on after a Z6 quick detail, I wouldn't be able to apply the Z6 after a fresh coat of 845. I just want compatibility in both directions.
I've given up on Z2, Z6, and Z8. Over the last three years, I've applied Z2, got severe water spot etching that permanently damaged the paint. I Buffed out what I could, applied 845 and haven't had a problem for a year. Two months ago, I got lazy and didn't feel like waxing the car so applied a coat of Z8 and guess what? Yep, severe etching is back. The 845 put an armor shield on the paint and water would not etch.
So, I'm looking for a quick detailer that completely harmonizes with 845.
Thanks.![]()
yakky said:Wow... I ran into the same issue with the Z stuff and 845IW was my goto for a while, it works great, but don't get scared off every sealant. There are plenty that do just fine. I can say I have had no issues with extended use of M21 and water spot etching. Where do you live? We have pretty strong acid rain here in northern VA.

Although 845 isn't carnauba it *does* behave like a carnauba regarding etching.
Most Qd's won't effect the base protection layer (845) so go with what looks the best.
