Car Dealership Detailing In Action!

First of all salpac, how are you an expert ? none of you guys have any videos that demonstrate your work. I have over 160 on Youtube, Vimeo, dailymotion, just to mention a few. I am also the only overspray removal specialist on the planet that has over 250 Google ads and websites from all over the world, like Russia, China, Dubai, Japan, and many other countries that feature my videos. You boys should really do your research. I am the only person in this business that has demonstration videos of auto trim & molding repair videos. "America has enough **** talkers we need some do-ers"

I don't see how having ANY amount of self-made videos strewn across the internet qualifies you for anything. I'm not going to dog pile on you but if you think because you post those hastily made, poorly edited and narrated videos you are in for a serious awakening....especially here. TTYL

First of all Ron long before you thought you were an expert, I was repairing vehicles from all sorts of paint damage. Do a little research on who you are talking about. I will tell you just like anyone else that thinks they are an expert, "where are all your videos demonstrating your expert work?" I am the only person in the world that even has demonstration videos of someone removing Protective & marine coatings overspray damage from vehicles. I am also the only person that has demonstration videos of auto trim and molding repair. If you would take a little time and watch some of my videos I am using an HD sony camera and repairing the vehicle while the owner observes me.

I hope you weren't directing that at Ron Ketchum - he has forgotten more about detailing and paint then you will ever know. Get a grip dude

I hired a guy that had 30 years of experience when i hired him. Needless to say he lasted a week because he got fired after he asked for more black spray paint to paint dark gray carpets on a 1 year old car black instead of cleaning them. He never uses clay bars or extractors because they dont work and take to long. His favorite cheaner of choice was thinner. This thread just reminds me of him. Alot of the guys that work for me at a large dealership are fairly good, but there is no way we could take the time or money to detail cars like on here. I tried to order a flex for the guys but was told if they want something like that they can buy there own equipment to use. The money i spend on equipment and supplies is watched over very well from the higher ups. Now the money i spend on supplies in my own garage is a different story.

Yes. The technology in both tools and paint has changed a lot. Anyone who has been doing things the same way for 15+ years without paying attention to the current trends can do as much damage as someone with no experience at all. It's kind of like a heart surgeon who always chooses to crack the chest because they aren't aware of angioplasty. The job gets done, but big scars are left and the chance of death goes up significantly.

I have never heard of jeff suggs until i was subjected to the videos on here, and i have had many a people ask me if i knew anyone who did overspray removal.

What would be a good situation for it? I remember Fermani mentioned it before but I can't remember what was said about it.

BC2 is sorta like a diminishing abrasive version of D151 from Meguiar's. You can use it as a finishing step if needed. Its probably one of the better AM refinishing products, not AMAZING OMOGMOMGOMG, but its pretty good.

EDIT. BTW, have a great restful thanksgiving everyone.

Jeff Suggs sent me this message...

I repaired over 250 vintage & muscle cars from overspray damage in 2007 at the POCI Convention in Tulsa. Someone was painting near the car show and overspray all the vehicles, from 2007 GTO to 1911 oaklands. I traveled over 25,000 miles to repair every vehicle. You car washers should research before talking out of your asses. Check out the 2007 POCI Convention in Tulsa, its in "Smoke Signals" magazine August 2007. you can match the cars in the magazine to my videos. Look guys i don't any of you, and would never post on your videos. My videos are for insurance companies and contractors to observe. The reason none of you will never be more than what you are is , you have to think out of the box. You cannot deny the work in my videos.

Hey Jeff, happy thanksgiving!

Can you post up some pics after wiping off all the oils and illuminated with halogens?

DaGonz standing by some vehicles does'nt impress anyone. I removed epoxy overspray from175 vehicles in the building that the Ford GT40 video was shot. None of you have ever repaired this many cars from paint damage, not just can I wash your car and wax please. The total value of the vehicles on the 250 car group of POCI vintage & muscle car show and the privite owner of 175 cars is over $45,000,000 dollars. The videos are on my Youtube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, and websites from all over the world that feature my videos. You dudes have no idea who I am, you just start putting people down. It must really hurt to see my videos and come to realize that you really are nothing but car washers & simple detailers.

That is real bug talk behind a key board. Did your dad not teach you to be a man. By the way everyone your **** talking is what started all these comments. I am not trying to make friends or influence anyone. I travel all over the world Russia, Japan, China, Dubai and everyone that I have ever met has never put my work down. The Reason behind that is the fact that you dudes are simple in the head. You would never even dream of preforming the kind of work demonstrated in my videos. Can any of you remove hard water stains, i can the videos are there. Can any of you pros remove overspray from auto moldings, i can and have the videos to prove it. Can any of you remove Protective and marine coatings overspray damage, I can the videos are everywhere.

Anyone can stand by a car and take a photo, not impressed at all. You want to see real damage and the repairs done. Go to Youtube and type in "paint overspray removal" believe me you won't see any of your friends here come up. The videos that you will see out of thousands of others will be mine of course. Check out my Youtube featured video, Black Ford mustang. This car has lots of scratches that I show you with my HD camera. I remove every scratch and the overspray without any compounds or wetsanding. I am the only person that demonstrates how i repair this vehicle. Everyone else just runs a slid show

I take offense to being told that we are just Wax on wax offers on this website. I for sure know I didnt clean this porsche with a wipe on wipe off method:

I am curious how long it would take you to get a similar result as well as what steps you would take to get there.

We (autopia) may have gotten off on the wrong foot, but the gross inaccuracies portrayed to Youtube viewers is what caused us to be so harsh. Claying through wax is a rediculous thought, as many have said before, the wax will cause it not to grab on to the contaminants. Believe it or not, clay is actually abrasive! Some clays more than others.

As far as everyone else running a slide show, its because with the proper amount of time to detail a car, the battery on your hd camera would be dead.

Great work on the mustang Jeff.... I must admit, with some cars you just seems to go crazy trying to get it done, but on other I can see you take your time. I guess there's just too much unnecessary heat between you and the guys over here and also neither sides should be trashing others work, this is just not good professional ethics.

This black mustang remembers me a car from a friend of mine I polished... I'm really not a pro, this was just the 3rd car I polished, just for hobby...

Sorry but it was a rainy day in the end as you can see, so no sun shots.... but the HQI lamps can give a very good idea after a wipe down with mineral spirits of the correction I was able to achieve.

I hope you enjoy it.

It is interesting how you are accusing people of it (putting people down), yet at the end of your very next sentence you do it. It maybe true that ""we" DON'T KNOW YOU, but that also goes for you. You don't know any of us either.

No.. it really hurts to watch you "attack" vehicles with a rotary and wool pad without doing proper prep work...

Can you post up some pics after wiping off all the oils and illuminated with halogens?

Dan, when I retired from active business, bought my little house in a nice neighborhood, small town.

All the neighbors greeted me, made good friends, depend on each other, watch out for each others homes when out of town, help with some chores for the older ones, etc.

The first spring I was here, several of the neighbors were upset about all the varmits that were coming around at night.

Looked at a few things and pointed out that they were leaving some "food sources" that attacted the racoons, possums, mice, rats, etc.

We got together and stopped the leaving of food available to them and in a week or so, most were gone.

Some people will act like varmits as well, only they seek ego gratisfaction, since they have a problem with their self esteem.

The normal, everyday folks on this forum have gotten along very well since the change of ownership of the forum.

Now appears we have a varmit feeding on posts that regard him or his supposidly good work.

I for one and not going to post again on any thread where the varmit feeds.

Just a thought,

Grumpy

Jeff,

First off, as a moderator of Autopia, Welcome to the forum. I'm sorry that many of our members see things differently then you do. Keep in mind that you have some of the world's best detailers on this site. Our members range from people who are new to detailing to some of the worlds finest talent. Then there are some very educated people in the automotive industry on this site. Many people read this site, some in which just lurk and not say a word. Then there are others who like to speak there mind. This is a great site indeed. We are very open about many things. As Autopians we try to practice the safest and most effectivce methods when it comes to vehicle car care. Im sure there are other ways of doing things. trust me I have made many mistakes over my career as a detailer. If you feel your methods for overspray removal are the right way. I would love to hear why. I think its great that you have traveled the world doing what you love to do. Detailing cars has taken me many places as well. I look foward to hearing more about your process in depth.

Scrape on Scrape off....
