My neice told me she had heard that car magnets (such as the troops ribbons) are bad for your paint. Someone in the car repair industry told her this but she said it was some time ago. She thought it was because of metallic properties in the paint.
I have been concerned about microscratches or fading, but I only put them on after the magnet has been washed as well as the car, and I relocate them each time.
Has anyone heard of this or can shed light on this? Is it possible that paint in the auto industry has changed and that is no longer the case, or is that just a myth?
