Don't worry about the lease date, thats a DHCP IP thing (when your computer gets an IP address from the router, the router sets an expiration date on it so that you don't "hog the line"). The expiration date refreshes everytime you connect.
Now that is interesting that your desktop cannot connect directly.. wait.. that won't work.. ^&%$^%$%. DSL requires PPoE authentication. which the router passess... Hmm.. let me think about that one..
Regarding the gateway ip, is it 192.168.1.1? If not, enter that address into the browser, you should get the admin screen. I haven't went into a linksys router in a while.. but try 192.168.1.1/admin
or whatever your ip is.
