Business Card Ideas?

Hi everyone I am looking at doing a full redesign on my business cards and would like to get some ideas from some of the more seasoned pros on here. What has worked better as far as design? I would like to see some examples to give to my friend who will be doing the graphic design. I have already looked at just about every business card site. Some even have cards specifically for auto detailers. I was thinking of using some beaded water as the background texture with a really nice car on the front. My logo would go top right with info around the edges. The backside I thought of using a microfiber as a background texture with a quick breakdown of my more popular packages and add-ons. Thanks ahead of time, I know you guys give great advice. Anyone that could post some pictures of ones that have worked better than others. I really want to stand out from the rest of the crowd. There are quite a few detailers here in Gainesville and I just started rolling out some print ads (phonebook, coupon magazine, flyers).

just an update we are working on our card design now but would like any input once i am done. I also would like any input or pictures of your favorite cards. Thanks everyone

This is the design I'm using currently.

I got a smoking deal on them through VistaPrint a year or so ago and I haven't gone through them all yet. I like to change up the look every now and then though, so my next order will be different.

One thing I feel is important is to use a car that you detailed if you put one on there. If you put a car that you obviously never have touched then people might question why you don't post your own work. I've always enjoyed going through pictures and picking out a good one for the card.

Great information, this was exactly what I was looking for. Yours is styled similar to how mine will be with a veichle on the right with the name in the middle and info on the left. I was thinking of adding a background texture of beaded up water.

I tried that on a card once and it looked good, but it didn't work with a car on it. If you do one with water drops in the back, then that pretty much has to be your graphic. I used a picture of water beads on paint, so it was not only a nifty graphic for the background, but it was also an example of my work (or rather, it was an example of science, but its the same thing) ;)

Just a decent looking card that is easy on the eye and has all your info on it especially your website is all you need.
My cards don't even have a car on them.

Member YKOT from DC is a graphics guy and works at a very prestigious company doing that. I had him work on some stuff for me. Great ideas, fast work and super good prices

Ya im scratching the car and going more minimal now. I feel like I'm racking my brain for new ideas. I think I hit a creative block as far as this goes. But I have a good idea for what I'm finally going to settle on. Hopefully ill have something to show you guys by the end of the day.

I'm thinking of going with something like this. I want to offer a small discount, the back will basically be a mirror image of the front without the name, number, and $5 off. I am going to list some services there. Any input? I will make the minute adjustments on the text areas so everything flows nicely, I just threw these together to get the idea of the placement. Also I was thinking of maybe having a texture in the orange area that will break it up a little bit.

My input would be to post the picture.

That is a good idea with the info on the back, though. The back of my card gives a store recommendation on where they can buy car care products. They offered me a 10% discount code if I wanted to put it on the back of my card, so I did. I figure, the back of the card shouldn't just be blank if you have the option to add something else. I wouldn't necessarily put pricing or anything back there, but a list of services isn't a bad idea.

Yes except I'm just going to list some services on the back without price. I figured it was straight and to the point. Thought about putting my slogan "we bring the shine to you" on the front but maybe it's better on the back

5 bucks off of a car wash might be good but on a 150 buck detail?

I would use % off, sounds like more and you can change the prices according on any job that comes in
