Buick Finally Got What It Deserved vs. Swirls (BIG pictures)

Well, since it was a really nice temperature today, figured I'd give the buick a once over since my customer cancelled due to medical reasons.

First was 3M's Fine Cut Rubbing compound on the hood, and trunk. It was pretty bad, but I only had the stock pad to work with, so I wasn't expecting anything more. (all my other pads are at my place of business)

Second, I went over the car with Meguiars #82, to get rid of any haze that was left apparent after the polishing.

Third step, AIO hand applied.

Fourth, the pad was dry by now, so I applied NXT with it.

I'm fairly happy how it turned out, but I want to try the new pads I ordered. I also bought the whole series of Poorboy's SSR lineup.

Believe it or not, my 4 coats of Klasse SG were still beading pretty good for a 8 month period of time. :)

Now, onto the pictures, because I know you people don't want to read all my crap.

Please excuse the white balance on the first picture, wasn't thinking when I took it.

The hood took me a long time. Jees, 30 minutes later...

(corner was fixed, I left some wax on it)

And the final one, the preditor, stalking its prey.

Of course, I had to go and ruin it because of 1 full throttle run down the highway. :(

how bout a resize on those pics....even at 1280 im scrolling all over the place....

still though...looks like a great job :)

Definitely a big difference

You probably removed some of, if not all of the SG you had on there with the AIO, then removed some of the AIO with the NXT.

What the heck kind of prey does the Predator hunt in that picture? Drywall?

BTW, HOLY BIG PICS, BATMAN!!!

True enough, but I'm not going for long term protection anymore since I'll be redoing the whole car soon with the proper pads and products.

OH! I'd also like to know, how does the cutting rate of a stock pad, compare to a Lake Country Orange cutting pad? I want to know if a better pad would have made any difference.

Yes.

Stock pad= teh poo po.

That stock pad isn't worth the box it came it. The LC pads should be night and day. They are very well constructed and dense.

Sweet, but what do you think of the job I did with a crappy stock pad?:)

Huge difference. You are getting good Buick Guy. :)

For SSR2.5, I work in around 4-5 and then move up to 6 with the theory that speed and heat break down the polishes.

with ssr i do 1.5ft by 1.5ft section on 5 for about a minute and then remove the residue. I spread it around on 3 before i crank it up to 5 though. Get some propel pads...they are excellent and a steal too.
