Budweiser

Was talking about this with some friends, how is this the "King of Beers"? IMO it's awful, about the worst tasting beer around, Bud Ice is another that made me gag from the taste and nasty metallic after taste. You go onto review sites and its among the worst reviewed. So what gives it "King of Beers"?

I do like Miller light on draft at bar, but Bud, no way. Look at the beer thread and see what we're drinking, the guys that think Budweiser is the best tasting brew around would pry die if they had some brews mentioned on that thread.

That's funny cause I'm enjoying a cold Budweiser as I type this. To each their own, no need to go around bashing a product just becuase it is not your personal taste preferences.

Maybe they're the king of beers by the amount of beer they sell, as it is one of the cheapest beer you can buy. That's just a guess. I agree with you that Bud is probably one of the nastiest tasting beer, even on draft. I know for myself, I'm not snobby enough to stick to one brand only and price has a HUGE decision in what beer I will buy. I'll buy whatever happens to be on sale at the supermarket, but no matter how cheap Bud is I will stay away from it. If it's Budweiser Select, I MIGHT consider it but usually if I am the one buying, there's always another beer on sale that will sway me away from Bud.

Personally, I can't stand ANY of the American macrobrews. I could care less if there's "tradition" or "heritage" or whatever.

Overcarbonated, character-less, malt-water that relies more on its name than its flavor can stay out of my house.

If I really had to use the adage "you get what you pay for", it would have to be with beer. I have never had cheap beer that I enjoyed, and I have never disliked any of the microbrew/import beer that I buy (some were too radical, but they still had character).

I think to celebrate my dislike of the macro crap, I'm going to go drink some Full Sail Pale Ale.

Beer = FTL.

Sorry I am more of a Whiskey/Liquor type of guy...

natural light for beer pong. :woot:

AMEN. I will take a good Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey anytime over beer.

I don't mind the taste of Budweiser but it is like all other big name American beers in that it is so dang watery. Pour it in a glass and hold it up, you can easily see through it because of such a high water content.

I often joke with people that if you take one bottle of Beck, Harp, or numerous other imports and poor it into two glasses and then fill those glasses with water, you now have two American beers. Atleast the imports have some substance to them.

it seems your born with either miller product taste buds or anheuser busch tasted buds. i'm the exact opposite, i enjoy:getdown all the busch products, and miller products:down no way hosa. actually my beer of choice is busch light!!

Thats where I've gotten a lot of recommendations from, lol. I have friends who come over and they go in the fridge in the garage and are like "what the hell is this??" like where is the Bud or Corona.

Miller on draft I like, when relaxing at a bar as its not heavy filling.

I love Sierra Nevada, Bells out in Michigan makes some top notch brews, I love Hazed and Infuzed from Boulder Brewing, Dogfish Head etc. And had an Lefthand Ale last night that was very good. The thought of tasting another Bud product makes me gag in comparison lol and haven't tasted in a long time. I was just always curious as to the King of Beers slogan....kinda like Kia or Hyundai saying their the king of cars over Porsche b/c they make more vehicles (not saying anything bad about either but you know what I mean)

One of my favorite beer combinations is what I call the Led Zeppelin/Jimi Hendrix combo

Hazed and Infused from Boulder Brewing and Purple Haze from Abita Brewing.

Surfer - You ever go to Brewzzi?

I'm a Coors Light man myself... not a lot of places here have it on tap, unfortunately.
Loved Brewzzi, great food but they had some write ups in the paper of not the cleanest kitchen etc. So haven't been there since lol. I had some of their own brew's, nothing special, just ok, and not cheap either. Ale House does (only reason I know is b/c my buddy would only drink Coors lol). The new Ale House in Boca is nice, not the sh!thole out in West Boca, and their friggen Crab Cakes are amazing.

I get all my beers from Case and Keg (Beerworld) here on 2nd ave. Feel like a kid in candy store every time I go in there, and the beer tastings are great :xyxthumbs

What company do you work for???

Ok, let's put it this way, it would be like me saying that your finance company is the worst that I have ever dealt with for no apparent reason. Like I said in an earlier post, to each their own. If you don't like one of A-B's products, then so be it. No need ot go dragging products through the mud on and on. BTW, I would recommend taking a tour through one of A-B's breweries. Yes, you may not care for the taste of one of the particular products, but you cannot argue with the quality that goes into making A-B brews. I can attest to this. it is called King of Beers because it is the #1 selling beer in the world. It used to be #1 in the U.S., but was outpaced by Bud Light within the past few years. I don't think marketing can influence that many people...

I must not be alone considering the bad reviews it gets even on beer sites. But your comparison doesn't work b/c you haven't dealt with my company whereas I've drank their brews. I know their facilities are quality, but their ingredients sorely lack behind others (not talking Miller etc).

not to change the subject but, has anyone heard of beer prices set to sky rocket in the near future? appreantly hopps prices have increased many multiples from what it's normally like, just like every other comedity i guess. any ways some one at work told me tonight anheuser busch is planning to have beer prices to be doubled from what they are now, don't know the time frame. hopefully it's just rumors and talk, that'd be pretty tough on the ole bar buisness.
