Blueprints for new garage

Your is still my inspiration for my 5 car garage. I know I dont have near the garage budget you do, but hope to make a nice space. I have to restate whats been said 100 times, your garage and house are beautiful and most immpressive and you seem to be a class act.

Chuck,

Thank you for the kind words. Your garage looks to be progressing very nicely.

It's been almost one year since we've moved in, and the garages continue to be a place that I can just relax and stare at.

Here are some pictures from late October:

I added a 1991 Mazda RX7 to the collection recently. It has 16k original miles and has never been in the rain. Too bad the single stage red paint ruined a few microfobers!

It looks like I'll need that 2nd lift sooner than I expected. Six cars barely fit in the "4-car" garage section. It's a this point I wish I had an extra 1-2 feet of extra width or length to the garage.

You must one very, very understranding wife (I know Im lucky, but...) . The house and yard look beautiful. Its funny that no matter how much space or money you have you can always use more! cars are lookin' good.

The shutters add so much character to the home. And of course the garage is sweet as candy. You have nice cars and a beautiful home. :xyxthumbs

Edit: Since you need a little more space, I'll be a good Samaritan and take that red Supra off your hands.... no problem, don't mention it. :p

Oh, I forgot to ask how the stained concrete is holding up so far? Have you done and major work in there yet (detailing, mechanical, jacks and stands, oil spills, etc)?

The stained concrete is holding up very well. I just ran to the garage a few minutes ago to snap these 2 pictures. I haven't cleaned the floors in a while. The 2 car garage takes a beating from the daily drivers. Mud, rain, sand, oil, etc. It's easy to damp mop clean and looks OK even when dirty.

I can't imagine how a garage floor with Race Deck tiles or light colored epoxy paint can look good in a realistic, daily driver garage. How can you keep it clean?

The stained concrete hasn't been a problem for me. There were a few small areas where the solvent based clear coat looked chaulky white. The contractor said ths was from trapped moisture. He wiped the areas down with xylene and recoated them. So far, no problems.

Dean,

Did you buy any more toys for the garage?

As a matter of fact, I did. :)

Here is the CR Spotless station that I set up in the corner of the 6 car garage. I just wheel the unit outside, and connect it to the garden hose with quick-connectors. I love it! No more trying to dry the roof of the minivan before the sun bakes in water spots.

CR Spotless...Hightly recommended.

Interesting...been thinking about one of those myself. :)

Wow, incredible collection and set up. As Boston continues to get pounded by a blizzard, I often find myself dreaming of a garage with attached house. After the kids go to sleep, I would go to the garage and turn wrenches, detail or just admire the cars. Quite honestly, I think I'm addicted to cars in general. I bought a 98 Integra GSR for under $10K for sport drives on Sunday mornings and have upgraded it with many performance related parts and detailed it to bring back the new car gloss. My dream is to continue buying affordable used performance cars and continue this fun. After viewing your collection and set up, I now know I'm not alone with this addiction! You have done exactly what I have been thinking of. Really nice work! Thanks for sharing your dream come true!

And the question that was sure to come (given it wasn't in the past 18 pages), what do you do for a living or what does your wife do?

F-L-O-SS-I-N-G Laaarge bro! I think that the 350Z should be the one to go outside... its the only real 'attainable' car in there... even the typeR is far more rarer then that...

sorry ... just reading through this thread, and i missed a few pages. reference the "CR Spotless station" above. what is this, and where can i get info on it? i tried to google it and didn't get a return.

and ditto on the other comments ..... you have designed an awesome garage/house. definitely living the dream. good luck.

Dean... now paint those walls and add some framed Auto art to the walls and that place will look like a sweet car museam!! That's quite a place you've got there man!

I just spent 1.5 hours looking through this thread

one part was confusing, at one point Dean had 3 lifts, then later one, it seemed he only had 1.. maybe its late, and im dreaming things up
