I thought BFWD needed time to cure.mirrormirror said:I just finished doing a 2008 Honda Accord (Mystic Green), which I finished with 3 coats of BFWD, and then topped the horizontal surfaces with an 3 additional coats of Blackfire Midnight Sun wax. Since I used the honda's styling notch along the side as my cutoff point for the wax, I had the opportunity to compare just BFWD along side the BFWD topped with Midnight Sun. Honestly, it was VERY difficult to see the difference. That said, BFWD, combined with good prep, gives an outstanding finish, really slick. Haven't worked with it that much to comment on its durability, but I've had it (only a single coat) on a different Accord (light blue metallic) for three months with no sign of degradation. The stuff is super easy on and off, which is more than I can say for the Midnight Sun, which I found temper-mental (make that greasy) if you lay it on too thick.
To Nonsensez9, I've used both the BF Gloss Enhancing Polish and CG's EZ Creme Glaze II, and while both are good, I have a slight preference for the Creme Glaze for just a little extra gloss and ease of use.
I don't think the BF products are over-hyped at all. I think they give as good or better performance for value as some of the other premium products out there. How it looks is always going to up for subjective evaluation, but for the cars that I've done with BFWD, I've had nothing but great "wow" comments from the recipients. I'll stick with it until the next great thing comes around, which will probably be in about 10 minutes ;-)

JuneBug said:BFWD is my only sealant now, having gone through all the other ones mentioned. It's super easy to use and I have had no problems with it going great for at least 4 months. Doesn't mean it's still as slick as day 1, but it still beads like it. I don't get the wax topper that some folks do, I've tried topping various sealants with various waxes for years and NEVER thought it added anything to it and in some cases, it didn't look as good.
Got_Leather said:For the guy who said it looked normal on silver, did you do some polishing first?
DitchTehFish said:Yes, I did polish first. After polishing, on silver, if you apply turtle wax, then BFWD or any other LSP, I don't think you would see a very noticeable difference in looks. JMO.![]()
Got_Leather said:While this may be true, you would notice the differences in the slickness, durability and how the Blackfire keeps the car cleaner, longer. Thanks for the reply.
