I've been reading up on FMJ and it sounds real good. I was just wondering how it compares to Blackfire? E.G. Shine, durability, slickness. I already have Blackfire, but I am curious about FMJ also.

I used about 1/4 oz. to cover the car, and let it dry almost two hours, and still got smears. The first wash took care of that, but I found the durability to be mediocre.
FMJ is much easier to use, IMO, and while the initial tight beads and slickness both faded to some extent after the first few washes, it settled down to medium-sized lazy beads and moderate slickness (enough to make washing relatively easy) that lasted for quite a while.
I keep meaning to give BF another try, but smears are my #1 pet peeve when dealing with LSPs. I suppose I should either use it or trade it; it's been on my shelf since shortly after the release of BFII.

I should clarify, too . . . all my experience is with BFII. I can see where I confused the issue a bit with how I worded my first post.termigator said:Mayby I should clarify. I have Blackfire II. I have never tried original Blackfire, so I can't comment on that, but I have no problems with Blackfire II. When I first used it, all I think was WOW! I had no problems with smearing and it seemed super slick. Could FMJ actually be slicker? I'm always looking for something better.![]()
