GOT PREP?
This GTR had about 3500 actual miles, but the paint must have been aged in dog years! The owner had a group of mobile guys come out to “detail” the car and you guys can just imagine how that went. He finally talked to the sales manager at the dealership and thankfully he referred him to us.
We spent about 30 hours reconditioning this paint. A lot of that time was spent finding the correct pad/technique in order to finish out correctly, as well as cleaning up the other “detailers” wax/compound. We detailed this car a few months ago, but IIRC the process was:
Wash
Clay
M105 with a green SM Arnold pad—orange pad in some spots
M205 RED CCS pad
We also had to use some PO85rd on some panels—they were all different.
We sealed with UPP
Tires wear malco aquabead
Before:
Even without proper lighting you can see what’s going on!
The “detailers” buffed the car and left buffer swirls everywhere. They also had wax/compound in *every* crack.
