Black Fire Wet Diamond Opinions

On that other site :nervous: everyone always talks about BFWD so picked up a sample with a recent order. Opinions anyone?? Seems a bit expensive at $40 per 16 oz when DG 105 is only about $11 per 16 oz.

I haven't used DG105 so I can't compare, but BFWD is my go to sealant. A little goes a looong way, easy removal, good durability, very slick and the look is excellent. If you have a sample try doing a side by side comparison and see what you think. Everyone has different opinions, often for different reasons/priorities. My guess is, if you only had one, you'd be happy with it.

BFWD is a great product.

Is on the expensive side but as Nth Degree said, easy on, easy off, great look and good durability. And a little does go a long way. Especially if you use a DA to apply it.

It is one of my favorite sealants. I love the look, warm, wet and glossy. Some people have reported it being a less than stellar protector, but its been ok for me.

Go with the DG 105, or better yet, go with DG 501/601 at a 4:1 ratio. My go to for sealant. Some guys report durability for over 6 months. I say between 3-4 months though.

I agree that is my go to combo lately. DG111 is great too.

I DG products, their car wash is the best in my opinion, but BFWD is better than any sealer they have. It is like when Richard Hammond asks why x car is better than y and Clarkson just smiles and says - it just is. I would add that is easier to use, looks better and slicker. I use a LC gold pad and a PC to apply.I have a cmer that I used it on his car over two years ago, he called last week and ask if I would do his red F250, alease use that stuff I used before, I checked, it was Blackfire

On black, it was a bit warmer compared to some sealants. As for durability, it seems reasonable to me but then if you use detail sprays, spray waxes, and gloss enhancing soaps, you can extend the apparent durability.

Hey, I've often wondered about this and perhaps this thread is a good place to ask:

How does BFWD compare with their All Finish Paint Protection? I used the AFPP on the S8 for a little while.

Not sure how about AFPP but rumor has it Blackfire is a Four Starr UPP variant.

I agree I think blackfire, wolfgang, and four star are all made at premium finish care in florida. Maybe menzerna power lock as well.

I think BFWD is all finish paint protection isn't called blackfire all finish protection?

I've noticed similarities between BFAFPP and UPP and it wouldn't surprise me if they were, uhm...related.

But there are diffs too; the UPP absolutely *DOES NOT* do the "darkening" thing the way the BF does. That's the primary reason why I switched the S8 from BF to the UPP. Plus, the UPP displays more slickness IME, not that the BF was bad in that regard.

I'd kinda suspected it was just a name change, but with so many people being so enthusiastic about the BFWD I started to wonder..I mean, yeah BFAFPP was an OK product, but it sure didn't wow me enough to ever consider buying another bottle of the stuff, even before the darkening (which I might appreciate on a different paint) made me hate it on the S8.

I liked their paint cleaner a whole lot better, works *GREAT* on matte/satin/flat black bits like under the hood and so on even when they have a bit of (very light) surface rust. Actually, I do still use my BF twins for that specific application, just wish the BFAFPP were more durable.

I bought a sample of this stuff by mistake this past year and ended up deciding to use it thru the winter season. It's held up much better than I expected and the gloss still looks amazing when just washed. Probably doesn't shed the winter filth quite as well as 'our preferred sealant', Accumulator :), but it's darn good given how e-z it is to work with.

I think you guys are talking about two products that are in actuality one product--here's the name right off the AG website "BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection"

I just happened to get a free sample so was wondering how it performed since it gets so much attention on AG, but it's almost four times as expensive as DG 105, 501 or 111 and twice as expensive as Poxy. For that much of a bump in price I'd certainly want to see a significant bump in looks and/or durability.

Is that true ?? If so, I always thought BFWD was a different product, not the item I purchased:
