i have a black stang just like the one above

the stock paint is TERRIBLE, look at it the wrong way and it swirls. very soft paint with alot of orange peel, a great combo

:LOLOL

Probably the same black paint my Mazda 626 has, since it is about 30% Ford content. :hmph:

Question for all you guys!! Do you all think that this level of repair and finish gloss can be achieved with a PC alone?

By the way, absolutely remarkable turn around!! :2thumbs:

Thanks man!!

As far as removing this type of marring with a PC, I dunno. IMO, when you need the rotary, you need the rotary. You *may* be able to remove a good bit of them with *multiple* passes of DACP (or similar polish), but it would be *really* time consuming (think stretching it out over days).

What's funny is that swirls and marring in paint always look worse in person, it's really hard to capture just how bad some of the stuff really is. Some of the swirls were *very* deep and the first pass with the wool just barely rounded them off. It wasn't until the subsequent passes with the rotary that I started to see them diminish.

LouisanaJeeper, I think someone had been washing this sucker with a brush FOR A LONG TIME!!! :) I can tell you for sure that they use the infamous green brush at this delaership though. <shudders> :D

I have yet to figure out why I keep buying used black cars already left in that condition.

Lol

I made that mistake once. My current car. Never again. I doubt I will ever buy a brand new black car.

Yeah, especially for a mobile professional like yourself, whose car is a reflection of their work, I would definitely NOT want a black car. I'd constantly be having panic attacks about the car's cleanliness.

I have had a black or dark colored car since 1990 and wont be without one. I guess I just love the torture.

HONDA paint at that!!!! Not me, I would probably consider having GM black, but then I wouldn't consider having anything GM. :)

Well, there was a dark blue Nissan Quest in there for 10 months in late '95. Now that I think about it, I went through high school with a dark blue and I used Mothers Cleaner Wax paste on that thing about 4-5 times a week. It was always immaculate!

I have water spot etching similar to that black mustang on my beater. Is the only way to remove that by wool pad and rotary? I have tried yellow and orange pad with pc(spd 6) using Menzerna PG to no avail.

Btw ebpcivicsi, any chance you could send me a sample of hyper dressing? I would like to try it out. How do you like it?
