Black cars just seem to find me *56K* NO WAY!!

Excellent work!! It would appear that the #84 did the trick for you, too... glad to hear it. :bigups

Was this another detail for a dealership? Or just someone who recently bought the car? It looks too good now to be sitting on a used car lot :D

Absolutely, that's why I finish out with finer polishes/pads on the rotary, and eventually the PC. Basically I am using the twisted wool with a heavy compound to "slice" away or level the clear, then using the finer polishes/pads to "finesse" the finish back to an exceptable level of gloss.

Does that make sense?

Thanks for the props guys!!!

Quick question - how much polish do you go through with a car like this? Per polish I mean.

Another sweet detail!

All that in only 5 hours.

The engine bay looks like it could do with a little less dressing. Some of those close-ups have the hoses looking slimy.

If I'm assuming correctly that it was dressed with hyper dressing, my experience has always been that it looks slimy like that at first, but loses that look once it "soaks in" and dries.... but again it depends on the product and the dillution. :p

I agree though, I'd love to watch him work sometime just to see how fast he's hopping around the car from one step to the next :lol

Superb work!!

Wow that is beautiful

Now take that man by his ears to the local speed shop and get him some lowering springs for christ sakes...hahahah :hifive:

I thought it had a lift kit on it. :grinno: :lol

Exactly - every time you post it gets better. How do you do it?

That is high praise from someone who does excellent work!! I concur!! Always enjoy the posts of your work.

Man... You do some good work. Great job on both of the recent threads you posted. It's a little warmer down in TN than it is here in MO, but I'd assume it was still pretty cold out there to be detailing? :)

Wow, thanks guys!! I really appreciate the kind words!!

About the engine, it was dressed with eagle one pro water based dressing cut 1:1. While the look is a bit over the top for *my* personal taste, the customer LOVED it. I could have wiped the hoses down for a more natural finish, but he wanted the engine to "bling." :)

Shiny Lil Detlr, this guy recently purchased the car, then made a trip to the local speed shop to purchse the wheels. While there, the manager saw the swirls and referred him to me (I have done work for him before). Thanks for the suggestion of the additional pass, it worked!!! I appreciate that and always like to credit my sources. ;)

tdekany, well I don't know what to say except for thank you very much!! Honestly, I am no better than anyone else here who has the desire to learn. I try to learn something from *EVERY* detail, then take that knowledge with me to the next. I hope I never stop learning, I never want to "box myself in"......it's all down hill from there. :D

Oh, I have no idea how polish I use, perhaps <2 oz. I do use a little more with the wool pads because they absorb so much polish. I keep my polish in 8oz yorker top dispensers and refill them about every tenth detail or so (that's a guess). I'll try to pay attention next time.

Thanks to everyone else for the kind words!!!!

Excellent comeback! I like the afters of the etching :).

I, too, question the speed with Hi-Temp Extreme Cut. I've never needed to go above 1750 or so. Just wondering what advantages you see. Have you ordered the Powergloss yet?

Is it me or is that thing crying for a drop?

Thanks Sean, I find that using the EC with wool pad @2000+ RPM's allows the product to work more efficiently. IME, the wool pads buff cooler, but cut deeper as the twisted strands "slice" through paint. With EC the product breaks down more evenly @2000 RPM's. Perhaps it's the nature of the product + the wool pad. I know that when using foam, I have never had to bump the RPM's that high. I will continue to experiment though. :)

Yes, that sucker is begging for at least a pro kit. :D

I'm glad you finally cleaned the lens of your camera...those specks were driving me crazy. :lol

As for the 'stang :woohoo: :bow :bow :bow :bow

Damn! That is just incredible work! The paint looks completely flawless under the lights. :bow

I have yet to figure out why people by black cars then let them get to that point. :nixweiss
