GOT PREP?
Deatiled this vehicle Saturday. The weather has been awful ALL weekend, but I was able to finish without getting rained on. This car still had drive-outs on it, I guess the dealer doesn’t do any prep on used cars????
The swirls were numerous AND deep, looked like someone washed it frequently with an old rag or something.
Anyways, I had my hands full removing the marring. After trying several different test combos, I decided on the following:
HT EC with twisted wool via rotary @2200
Meguiars #84 with a cutting pad (Meg’s) @1200 RPM’s (I remembered what shinylildetlr recommended).
Meguiars #83 with the a polishing pad via rotary @1200 RPM’s
Meguiars #80 speed glaze with a polishing pad via PC @ speed 5.
Two coats of Meguiars glod class (new formula)
OCW
Tires dressed with Meguiars hyper-dressing 1:1
Glass cleaned with NXT glass cleaner
Wheels polished with NXT metal polish
Total working time 5 hours.
Before:
Here is some water etching on the hood. This etching was on every horizontal surface.
