Bissell little green clean machine

Hey just wondered what you guys thought about it, I got the one with the heater and the turbo brush. This thing retails for $100 or more and I picked it up for $75(inside source). Just curious if anybody has any experience with it and what your thoughts are on it.

I have the same unit. The turbo brush is to big and awkward (long) to get around, between, and under seats, and find the regular nozzel/brush better. Basically just find it convienent because of the spray and then vacuum features. Could do a better job with a spray bottle, brush, and a wet or dry shop vacuum (the Lil Green vacuum is not very strong at all). It will suffice for light duty action.

Hey I have one and use it all the time and it does a great job.. if the job is soooooooo bad that it can't be corredted by this little thing then you are wasting your time and money.. The key is to Pre-Treat and then extract... Just my cheap profit minded two cents,,,,,,,,,,

I love mine . . . and as for getting under the seats - if you remove them (4 bolts and a quick-connect cable), then it's no problem.

(I also tend to turn a profit of about 50cents each time, from change dropped under the seat)

Additionally, the Little Green is great for removing stains from upholstered chairs/couches (with two crumb-crunchers in our house, I've got first-hand experience).

I have one (actually, my second one) and it works pretty good, but I can clean most interiors more quickly by shampooing and extracting, probably because I've done it that way for so long.

It is a great machine for the weekend detailer but it won't hold up to constant use which is why my first one died. I got the second one for free (the newer model), but I haven't used it yet.

I've used something simular, the old Bissell hookup to the hot water tap. I then took the vac hose off and put it into a Shop-Vac and had much more suction. =One spray line and a different suck line. I then took an old stainless crevice tool and put it on the end of the suction line and you could hear the Shop-Vac really work and i could get into most dark places. I better stop this is starting to sound like porn.

I like the utility of mine...I actually don't use it to do the cleaning per say...I use a spray bottle with woolite/water mix and a separate brush by hand to clean the carpets...then fill the Little Green machine with just hot water (no cleaning solution) to spray and extract the carpets after I'm done cleaning by hand in order to get the majority of the cleaners out of the carpet. I get my best results this way...I used to clean carpets by hand with just the woolite/water and a brush but then you leave behind the cleaner on the carpet and they will get dirtier faster this way...so in came the basic little green as a means to dilute and pull the cleaning solution back out of the carpets. Works for me as the weekend detailer.

This is exactly what I use it for as well. Works like a charm! I hear ya about removing the soapy residue. Leaving it will get the fabric dirtier faster.

where are you guys buying these machines? It looks like the LGM has been dropped and the replacement units all look like toys :(

thx.

John, thanks a lot. I appreciate it. They do look like toys but I guess I need to one that's heated?

The one we have isn't heated, and if you're using it by your house you just have to weigh how much more of a hassle it'd be to fill it with hot water.

If you fill it with cold water I'd think a heated one would take a while to actually heat the water up. Maybe someone who uses a heated version can answer how much more useful it actually is.

so you just add hot water to your un-heated unit?

i would just use it in the garage so getting hot water is not an issue. I don't know how hot the "hot" water really is when the heating mode is switched on.

thx.

Yep, I just add hot water from the tap.

The wife bought this little thing and I wasn't aware at the time there was a heated version, but as easy as it is to add hot water, I don't really miss not having a heater. Like you say, I can't imagine it would heat that well anyway.... but maybe it does, I'll have to let those who have a heated version rate it.

OK, thanks for the replies. I'll check out ACE Hdwe and a few other stores to see if I can find one. I just wish there was a unit that appeared a bit more substantial in the $150 price category...
