Quik89si- Heh heh, once again, you've got a job ahead of you, but at least it's a small area. The silver paint (well, the clearcoat) on our '02 MPV is HARD, as in I haven't had to polish it yet, it just doesn't mar! The SFP will PROBABLY be a little too mild for the Mazda clear, at least by hand. SFP is sorta just a "#9 for clearcoats".
If *I* were gonna start from scratch (oops, pun) with a Mazda, I'd get the 1Z Ultra Polish and Paint Polish, otherwise the same recommendations as given for your CRX will apply here as well. Different paint and problem, so different reasons *WHY*, but same products. The Scratch-X is another good suggestion. But honestly, I'd go with 1Z. I think you'd be VERY glad you did.
On our MPV, I use AIO + SG (maybe up to 5 layers!) instead of P UPP (which I just LOVE on my silver S8) for the durability. IMO, SG beats P UPP durability-wise, hands down, and I think it "layers" better. When I top it, I use Meg's #16. It looks ALMOST as good as P21S on Mazda silver, but it lasts a LOT longer. And it's VERY affordable and easy to use. "Self-cleaning" in the rain, too, even in the winter. One can would last MANY years.
