Best Poorboys wax for an oxidized ford

I have a Black mustang and its faintly oxidized. I wax my car all the time in the summer just cuz of this problem. I will wax it with Meguairs gold class and it seems to last just short of a month 2-3 weeks if that and it looks like the oxidization comes back..

I just looked over the entire website for poorboys and would like some info on whats the best wax I could use to get that brand new smooth glossy black ice looking shine, and keep it there for a while?

It sounds like you aren't addressing the problem (oxidation) but rather you are just "covering it" with the wax.
I would suggest using a polish first. Then, when the finish looks good, you can go to a wax.
Do you have a buffer or are you doing everything by hand?

Yep I agree. It sound to me as though a very complete detailing is needed. Starting off with a good wash then of course a good claying to get rid of all the contaminants that i am certain are in your paint at this point. Then a good paint cleaner would even be a good choice, then after that is done and depending on the exact condition of your paint a good polish and possibly even a swirl remover and then of course some wax at the end of it all. All of this of course will depend on the condition of the paint and some pictures would help with determining what might be needed.

I've dealt with oxidization up until this moment in my life using a rotary, wool pad (foam around edges, sometimes by hand), and mechanical polishes, like compound or PB's SSR2.5, and a lot of time, patience and buffing.
Some on here have used chemical polishes, like KAIO or PB's PP. I will try that next.

I've found chemical polishes work "faster/easier" on oxidation than mechanical ones, especially by hand. Of course, this isn't necessarily going to address marring.

As others have mentioned you will first need to address the oxidation problem before you look to cover it with a wax or sealant.
It sounds like you have only waxed your car. You may want to consider claying and polishing before you apply your LSP to give it the look you want.

When you have a nice clean surface, then I would go with EX and top with Natty's blue.

You may want to check out Jngrbrdman's thread http://www.detailcity.org/forums/detailing-general/3136-detailing-according-jngrbrdman.html

Good luck

Good assessment of your problem and good advice for resolving same. :bigups

If you are only dealing with oxidation, and not scratches/swirling etc., a chemical polish should put you on the right path. Looking at PB's options, you PwC, PwS, PP, and SSR1. Shoot Steve (Poorboy) a PM or e-mail and get a recommendation straight from the horse's....errrr...man's mouth. You will find him to be very helpful.:)

EDIT: A bit slow on the keyboard it seems

I've had good luck with PB Pro Polish at removing oxidization...Below is a test spot, worked in by hand.

You have to love red!!!! IMHO, Red is a great color to work with. It always seems to come back to life w/o a lot of work......well, from my experiences at least.

I think you've heard most of the right answers...you can't cover oxidation and expect it not to come right back. One question I usually ask fist though is whether you are working by hand or machine. As you have seen from some of the above posts it is possible to do the work by hand, but it's hard , time consuming work. A PC or rotary would quicken the results.
I too would stick to Professional Polish for oxidation but you must really work it to rid yourself of all the oxidation. A first go over will get some of it, but a few more applications will totally remove it and give you a chance to keep it that way. :) ..

Harry the QW+ has some cleaners,if used will it remove your LSP,sealant, wax etc..

Joe.P I don't know I hope not it didn't say on the bottle just said use before show to shine lets see if Steve will tell us....I just looked at the bottle it says good between full details removes finger prints etc ...it just might have removed the Natty's on the car but I don't think it removed the EX well just have to ask Steve ...

If QW+ is just wiped on and buffed off it won't do much more than surface cleaning...if you use it with a PC and get some friction going it can be an effective cleaner while leaving protection. :)

How nearsighted of you to design a product that only does what it's designed for. tsk tsk

I just wiped it on and buffed it off just to see how it works did it twice once on friday and today I can't belive how little you need it really goes a long way! and comes off easy like everything else with the PB label on it:bow :bigups :yourrock
