Best bang for the buck MF's

I bought a Meguiar's Water Magnet and was thouroughly disappointed with it. I switched to that from The Absorber. Like the above post said, the Microtex drying towel from Wal-Mart ends up being my go to drying towel now because it is SO thirsty. Contrary to what some might say I think it is a great drying towel, and easily outperforms the Water Magnet or Absorber.

I agree....I went from The Absorber to the WM and what a dissapointment. I have the Mintex and love them for drying and QD work. Nothing can beat a 100% cotton bath towel to suck the water up.

I just tried out the Vroom towels for wax removal, and all I can say is WOW! I've never tried MF before this, but I'm very impressed with the ease of use, how much residue the towels can hold, and how they don't leave any scratches on my finish!

Out of curiosity, I also tried using them for drying. They held up surprisingly well, and soaked up much more water than I expected, though a small 14x14 can only do so much. I dried my whole sedan with one of them, wringing it out about three times during the process.. I'll be picking up a Microtex drying towel from WM in the next week or so.

Thanks for all your advise, this forum is great.

Well let me just say that the Excel Monterey got even better! They're now tagless! But he did raise the price by about a buck though.

Here are my current Fave's:

Drying = Big Blue 2 from Proper Auto Care (got 2 for $30 and they are pure sex for quality). I also own 3 cobras, 1 from excel, and meguiar's...but "You're my boy blue!"

Buffing = Perfect Shine Buffing Cloth from Proper Auto Care (2 for $12 and don't cake + super soft). They have an amazing texture and simply seem to "float over the paint" removing all residues and leave no streaks.

All Purpose = Excel Blue and Yellow (got the 18 pack....great deal and very nice)

Engine, Trim, Wheels, General Purpose = Autozone pack or BJ's wholesale 25 for $9.99

Windows = Whatever I get my hands on that's clean, but i did try a Cobra window ww and it's ok.

I forgot to mention that I used the Vroom to pick up some streaks leftover from a RainX application, and they did so much better than the paper towels and terry that I tried! Perfect shine, no streaks. Couldn't ask for more.
