Best bang for the buck MF's

From what I've tried, it doesn't apply to the 12 for 10. I added another product and then it gave me a discount, but not the MF's alone. :(

I just ordered 6 of the ultra plush MF towels and did not any discount .... I Type autopia

did not matter. Must be April Fools Day. Just kiddin patrick is a goog guy.

love patricks mf's. just ordered 3 pacific blues and a few other things. have about 40 of the blue supremes already :)

Anyone ever try Chemical Guys and their microfiber towels? Seem to have some good prices, just dont know about the quality.

I asked about CG MF's in the past, and the message was pretty consistent to look elsewhere for quality.

The "Chubby" from CG's isn't bad at all. They also have some WW's that aren't bad.

I just got the Vroom 12 for $8 from Target the other day, but noticed that half are white and half are grey. Is there any difference? Is one color better than the other for drying, or for wax removal? tia

nope, they're the same. They suck at drying though...use them for removing wax/polish/sealant residue only.

Agreed. These are for menial jobs only. I used them today for applying leather conditioner/vinyl protectant. They are decent quality, but I don't think I'll be touching them to any paint. Once wet the lack of pile is apparent.

I think they're fine for paint, as they are soft and don't scratch, but you're right when wet their lack of pile is very apparent.

I also picked up the vroom towles (gray and white mix) I spent about 5 hours last night detailing my car after sitting for winter...and they didn't scratch/mar the paint at all. I was definately pleased with them, especially for over the counter. However, they don't work as well once they get turned over quite a bit, but this is probably true with every towel. I ended up using all 12 last night during the detail...better to be safe than sorry.

Can you guys recommend a good OTC drying MF? I heard the name "water magnet" and "viking" pop up a few times before, but no further details.

I've heard some people like the Vroom Drying Towel - If I remember correctly someone said it worked just as good as their one from excel...I have personally not used it yet, and I find this hard to believe.

Okay- I did a quick search and a member (AlexRuiz) said this:

Quote: "Locally, OTC the humble Walmart Microtex is tough to beat. It is not a waffle, but it doesn't need to be.... very plush, it is microfiber and drinks a lot."

So maybe there is another option for you to look into. If these dont meet your needs...I have heard nothing but good things from Patricks Waffle Weaves such as the Montery - good luck

I bought a Meguiar's Water Magnet and was thouroughly disappointed with it. I switched to that from The Absorber. Like the above post said, the Microtex drying towel from Wal-Mart ends up being my go to drying towel now because it is SO thirsty. Contrary to what some might say I think it is a great drying towel, and easily outperforms the Water Magnet or Absorber.

The Meg's water magnet absorbs well, but it's a bit stiff. The new Mothers Foam-Core Waffle Weave looks interesting, hopefully the new MF stuff will be in stores soon.

Yeah, I don't know. The feel and performance of the Water Magnet were just never quite what I had hoped. I'm talking in terms of absorption the Microtex blows it out of the water.
