Been real impressed with Opti-Coat so far

Does anyone here use a telescoping wash mitt? I'm in need of one... Never know when you'll get a huge car (like my dads truck), where you either have to open the door and climb all over the interior, or use a mitt with a handle on it.

Experiences anyone? AutoZone's is not 100% cotton, and when I looked closely, it was crap. Had glue or something (spider egg sack?) in it.

Viking 100% mitt at...thay all still have the telescoping 100% one(Viking)....just nit the mitt anymore....i remeber i got mad that i couldnt take it off the mop handle and use it...........;) how many Autozones did u try....i also saw them at tagets...Strauss....but thats about it for the 100%

I did see at Big Lots a MF dust mop like the one Brad showed in an earlier thread. $5.99 each. I almost bought one but realized I have 90% carpet in the house and the garage is bare concrete.

Never thought to use on car ...... hmmmmm... Well this one was kinda rough and all so probably not that one.

It was cool though all blue and all.

My local Wal Mart has telescoping Viking wash mits, as well as replacement mits. I don't know if they are 100% cotton or not. A recent post said that even some of the Viking mits that are labeled "100% cotton" are actually a blend.

My car looks great, it has been staying cleaner longer, and when it comes time to wash it releases dirt better too! Big fan so far! :xyxthumbs

Very good to hear. I got the Aquartz coating in a few weeks back, still need to play with it but when I get it on my car I would like to compare it to Opti Coat at some point, all the reviews this far have been excellent!

Chad..it looks great. I have just received both the Opti coat as well as Aquartz. I applied the Aquartz to my motorcycle. The OC I have applied to a few sinks to get the hang of it. It sure repels water! I want to try the Aquartz on my FX when I'm done the job I just started tonight. How long did it take you to do your car? Did you do one coat or two?

Chad,
I have heard nothing but good things about the OC. One of these days, I would love to try it outon my car.
Your car looks great, and very wet:drool5:
How hard (or easy) is it to apply?

Let me know how you like the Aquartz as I was thinking of trying that out too. ;)

Beautiful car/paint Rasky . Is it a wax or sealant ?

Actually it's neither. It's a permanent coating. ;)

You can read more about it in Davids review.

Your car looks super clean Chad :spy:

Give it a week! :D

Let me know what you think of the Aquartz. The water repelling is crazy when you use the pressure washer on the car. I'm real impressed how well the wheels have held up too!

It took me a good 30 minutes to apply OC and I put on 2 coats. It's not the best lighting in my garage and I did find a small blemish the next day which can only be seen in low light. You definitely want to pay attention when you apply this stuff and not fly around the car like you would with a normal wax/sealant. Do one panel at a time and buff it off as it start to flash.

I've also been told that a second coat is only possible within 30 minutes of applying it, otherwise you may get some clouding. The next time I apply it to a car I will only be doing one coat. ;)

Chad..have you had a chance to compare it to Aquartz? Might be better off to wait now for the new version Cquartz...supposed to be much, much easier to apply. I played with the Aquartz again tonight...I'm improving my method with it but I think I will wait for the new product before i play any more.

Looks like a keeper Chad. How do you like the look of the OC?

Looks great to me...though so does all my other LSP's :D

Yeah, think I saw someone commenting about that on your thread. I do want to apply a coating to my wifes car before winter and have been debating checking out Aquartz.

I can't imagine applying it with a wool pad and rotary though...not sure how that wouldn't swirl the paint regardless of the type of wool. Guess I'll let you try that one before me. :D

When is the new stuff supposed to be out?

Ya, I hear you on the wool..I guess it's some European soft wool version. The rotary app with the foam finishing pad did do a good job. The new Cquartz is supposed to be out in about a month. I will get some as soon as I can and share my findings with it. (I should probably copy my threads over here about trying the Aquartz so far as well as my comparisons to OC) Did you read my wash comparison thread on the 2?
