I have an ad from them and they have this "regency prima" brand bath/wash/hand towels for sale. pretty cheap at around $5/4/3 respectively i think. anybody know if they're any good? I was using yellow microfiber towles from costco and learned from here that costco towels are no good on paint.

There good for washing your face or drying after a shower.
zaino's website kept advocating cotton towels from big name stores like BB&B....what are some other, better alternatives? i read about the blue mf towel from exceldetail. should i get a bunch of those instead for paint? the yellow costco mf left a lot of lint when wiping off the final Z8 application.
also, are you suppose to wash mf towels before the first use? if so, then that was my lint problem as i used them right out of the bag.

The mf towels from exceldetail are very good. I don't have any lint problems with them. And yes wash all towels before using.

Excels MFs are very nice, get a few and decide for yourself. Yes, wash first. I've used MFs before washing and so far have had no problems.

The cheap Clean-Rite towels I got from Home Depot have never stopped linting no matter how many times I wash them. Many people wash their towels before first use; I don't, unless I see obvious dirt/lint.
As far as the Excel towels, the Supreme is an excellent towel, and they are a great bang-for-the-buck, I like the more expensive Elites less than the Supremes.

I didn't wash it prior to first use, but it didn't dry very well at all...i had to go over the same spot many times to get it to dry whereas the absorber dries it in one pass. what do you guys recommend? the biggest car we have is a nissan murano, so i'll need enough for drying that off.

Zaino is just recommending safe towels for users that may not know better. Many newcomers to the Z system still use old low-quality buffing materials. Sal is just playing it safe by recommending a decent towel without playing favorites. Even though Sal may use MF, he is not in the business of doing endorsements for other detailing businesses selling "enthusiast" quality towels. I know Sal likes the DF Towel a lot, but he doesn't get paid to recommend others to use them. Bottom line, you do not need to spend that much per towel to find a fantastic product. In fact, you should be getting several towels for that price!
